Please welcome our newest beginner student, RHODES MUSASHI, to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters! At the moment, he holds the unique ability of FAERY PHYSIOLOGY to his alias, KLONOPIN, which gifts him a place in room #205 as well!
❝ THE MUTANT’S GIFT ❞
Musashi was born with the gift of Faery Physiology. It is a physical mutation, but as a child, it was only noticeable in his rosy cheeks, pale skin and small stature; traits that could easily be attributed to his premature birth. However, upon reaching puberty, he began to sprout clear, veined wings, not unlike those of a bee. They are a metre long and are thin enough to fold under his clothing. As well as this, Musashi produces a hallucinogenic powder- dubbed Pixie Dust- which cultivates like flakes on his skin. If inhaled, it will cause realistic hallucinations. Particularly, it impairs the victims vision; they will see all colours as different hues of pinks and lilacs, and see, most commonly, fantasy creatures and sentient toys or dolls. He can also exhale this powder, and is immune to their effects. (solely due to being exposed so long that he has built up an immunity.)
weaknesses ;
01 : His wings can lift him from the ground, but due to their small size and weight, he cannot fly very high or for very long. As they work like a bees, in sharp, choppy strokes, he will face exhaustion from overuse. Due to this, and the fact they often ache from the strain, they are more a hindrance than a virtue.
02 : He has not yet learned to control his pixie dust, and cannot stop it from cultivating on his skin. This means it is risky for him to stand too close to people. Despite being immune, it is uncomfortable for him to allow the dust to stay on his skin for prolonged periods of time, resulting in him needing wash or shake it off a few times a day. Obviously he cannot be around people when doing so.
03 : If he sneezes or coughs unexpectedly, he will exhale the dust into the air. On top of this, any sharp movements made will shake it off of his body. The hallucinations are strong, and though the durations depend on intake, they don’t tend to last over a maximum of thirty minutes.
❝ THE MUTANT HIMSELF ❞
Musashi has always been attracted to nature. Growing up in a small town in Kansas, he wasn’t met with the green forests he had felt drawn towards, but was faced with no shortage of woods and creeks. As a child, he spent many summer afternoons going on excursions through the woods, or kicking his feet in the creek. However, at the age of eleven, he stumbled across the corpse of an unfortunate Rabbit, and felt absolutely compelled to give it a burial. This continued into his teens, resulting in a backyard Pet Cemetery. His father a police officer, the all-American type with the lords cross pasted on the hind of his car, and mother, a second-generation Asian-American, a seamstress with the radiance (and haughtiness) of a goddess, were less than understanding of their son’s fascination with animals, be they dead or alive. Paired with an awed fascination with crimes, his father eventually outright banned Musashi from venturing into the woods, worried he was killing the animals himself. Around this time, Musashi began showing signs of his abilities. A great grandmother on his mothers side fell ill, and he was tore from his beloved home, moved to the uncomfortable bustle of Seoul. Overwhelmed, and after a few scary incidents as his Pixie Dust began to make his presence known, Musashi became almost confined to his room, before eventually being located and taken to Xavier’s School
They are purely innocent, but Musashi has a lot of interests that cause others to be weary of him. He likes to collect ‘strange’ things, such as taxidermy, obscure collectables such as Shrunken Head and Fiji Mermaids, and broken/ugly dolls. He still keeps all his childhood stuffed animals, which reside at the foot of his bed. His biggest collection, however, is of teeth. Including his own baby teeth, and those of old classmates he could convince to part with, he has been finding ways to get his hands on teeth ever since he was a child. He is a reserved boy, with great interest in mythology and legends. He is nervous to speak to people as he does not have control over his abilities and is petrified of causing them to hallucinate. He often draws strange and vast comparisons, and has a hyperactive imagination, which can often cause him to panic over small things. Although he is shy, he is a good friend, but will often try to isolate himself. He sometimes likes to pretend he is an actual fairy, and not a mutant, but knows this is not the case.
Please welcome our newest intermediate student, LEE HONGBIN, to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters! At the moment, he holds the unique ability of PYROKINESIS to his alias, INFERNO, which gifts him a place in room #202 as well!
❝ THE PYROKINETIC'S GIFT ❞
Pyrokinesis:
This is, in brief terms, the ability to generate, shape and manipulate fire and, as a sub-power and to a much lesser extent, heat. He can create his own flames, which spawn mainly from his hands though he can spread them and it is implied that he can produce flames from anywhere on his body — he simply has vastly less control as he suffers from lack of practise, to he prefers to just stick with his hands in most situations. He has complete control over these flames and can form a number of different attacks with them, mainly blasts and fireballs or huge streams that he can control entirely. He has also learned how to spread the fire up as far as his arms, allowing him to combine them with upper-body combat attacks. He can manipulate existing flames, making them grow bigger or smaller, extinguishing them or casting different shapes from them, such as small or large blasts. Hongbin’s skin does not often show any signs of being damaged by his own flames or the flames he is in control of and he was gifted to him flame-retardant clothing that will not catch ablaze from his powers (after one too many incidents), but it has been shown that his skin may start to suffer after being prolonged to flame for over his limit. It is also apparent that Hongbin is unable to control his powers during high levels of emotional distress, such as sorrow or fury. When these situations arise the problems mainly lie in his hands, and the results can be extremely destructive.
Pyrokinetic combat (sub-power #1):
He is learning to utilize fire with his physical combat, which is the only time Hongbin spreads his flames to his feet as he can embed fire into his kicks and punches, etc. While this leaves Hongbin open for an impressive range of offensive attacks, his defence is notably weaker. Also, the combat requires a large amount of control and concentration, and combat fuelled by rage can make the flames stronger but harder to control, meaning he is more likely to injure himself or destroy things around him.
Burning/melting (sub-power #2):
Because his mutation works around his ability to manipulate certain molecules and form chemical reactions in the air to cause combustion or ignition, and is focused mainly in his hands, Hongbin’s second sub-power is the ability to burn or melt something with his touch alone. This aspect of his power is the most volatile, the least trained and the hardest to control. It mostly occurs during high levels of uncontrollable emotions, namely rage, when Hongbin becomes unable to fully control his body and its inborn abilities. Random intervals occur when the molecules and atoms of whatever Hongbin is touching or holding become disrupted or heated due to his touch, which can cause anything from minor burns to complete combustion (considering that whatever he is touching is flammable). For example: if Hongbin was holding onto a simple plastic tray when he became really angry and the sub-power occured, the tray would either burn wherever he was holding it, melt in his grip or ignite into flames completely, depending on the level of his emotion. He has had occurrences of burning people in the past, which is why Hongbin is careful not to touch anyone when he’s angered, unless his intention is to cause damage.
weaknesses ;
01 : Hongbin is weak to water and, as an extension, some ice-based attacks. While water can combat both his body and his fire completely ice usually will only work if it affects his body and lowers his core body temperature, rather than trying to combat the flames themselves.
02 : If Hongbin is in a climate which is too wet or if the air is too humid, he finds it much more difficult to produce and manipulate flames. It’s also a struggle for him to create and generate flames if his skin is wet, because the flames have a harder time clinging to his skin (if successful at all). Humid air also messes with Hongbin’s abilities to tamper with the molecules and ignite them, meaning his flames are left weaker and smaller by comparison as they are also slowed down by the moisture in the air. Places with low oxidisation also give him trouble.
03 : Hongbin’s own emotions are a form of weakness, as they directly affect his abilities and how well he can control them. The most heightened forms of negative emotions can leave Hongbin volatile and dangerous, prone to making things melt, burn or combust without meaning to or without warning.
❝ THE PYROKINETIC HIMSELF ❞
Hongbin was born in a quiet village in Yangpyeon to a simple family; a hard-working set of parents, Hongbin, the first born son, and eventually a little girl a few years later to nicely round off the aesthetic of quaint little family in the countryside. Hongbin was largely left to himself growing up. His parents enjoyed the country life and indulged themselves into the lifestyle fully, but Hongbin was a high-energy boy and found that way of living to be boring and under-stimulating. When Hongbin’s little sister was born she truly loved the nature and outdoors from the moment she could walk, thus giving his parents the child that they had always wanted, one that could share their love with wholly. She would be raised to be a farmer, just like them. Hongbin, on the other hand, was more or less left to do whatever he liked, so long as he didn’t get hurt, didn’t annoy the neighbours and was always home before night-time. He would often spend his summer days waking at the crack of dawn and following the Han river until he got into Seoul, where he would spend his day until dusk began to fall across the sky and he would be forced into returning home.
The first time Hongbin found out about his powers, he was seven years old. Even at that age it never occured to him to go to his parents about his strange powers and his abilities to produce flames in the palm of his hand — mother and father didn’t have these powers, and his sister most certainly showed no signs of them either. It wasn’t normal, so it would have to be a secret. Most times he would find a secluded spot down by the river and practice with his powers there, play with the flames on his hands and make them wiggle and jump from finger to finger, using them to burn little irrelevant things like blades of grass or small flowers. At night he would set them in his palms or lift them into the air and play with them there, though he never usually played with his flames indoors until a few years later, around age ten, when he had learned how to control them better.
The first time Hongbin had an accident with his powers, he was sixteen years old. He doesn’t remember how it happened — he assumes a slip of concentration around one of his nightly flames — but he can remember smoke billowing into the sky and flames licking up the side of their little country house, eating away at the logs and wood and thatching, destroying the frail set-up in a show of hot, orange carnage. They huddled outside in blankets and his family wore shocked, tearful and mournful expressions — Hongbin’s was blank and empty, the firelight shimmering in the darks of his eyes. He never liked that house anyway.
Hongbin was twenty and living in Seoul when he finally found people of his kind. Up until the age of eighteen he had never given much thought to his unique abilities aside from the overall idea that it was to be kept under wraps, a secret not to be shared because, until then, he had assumed there were no others out there like him — until he met Seungwoo. Using his mutation of telepathy he had managed to find Hongbin out in a crowd and introduced him to his friends, men and women, even teenagers, who all varied except for one unique trait: they all had mutations in some way or another. Hongbin remembers befriending a girl whose skin and eyes and fangs resembled that of a snake, and another male who had the ability to levitate objects using nothing but his mind. They were the ones who, like Hongbin, had to hide their mutations in the shadows — not because they were alone, as Hongbin had thought, but because there were people out there, humans, anti-mutant protestors, who thought that their kind were an abomination. With high hopes toward Hongbin joining the revolution (as they so aptly named it; ‘the mutants will rise up one day, Hongbin’ he remembers Seungwoo saying to him) they introduced him to the idea of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, a place where he would be accepted and could finally learn how to harness his powers to the fullest.
Please welcome our newest neutral mutant citizen, CARTIER WILLY, to city of Busan! At the moment, he holds the unique ability of OMNILIGUALISM to his alias, TUMELO, and works as a TRANSLATOR, which gifts him a place in BAYVIEW apt #002 as well!
❝ THE MUTANT’S GIFT ❞
His main ability is omnilingualism — polyglotism, de/ciphering, interpretation. All that stuff. Essentially, through physical contact, he’s able to speak, write, understand and communicate in any language, including: computer codes, languages that have never been heard before, sign language and in some cases animal language (zoolingualism) too.
Physical contact can range from a person, to an object with a language scripted/imprinted on it. His mutation is genetic, but it was plainly enhanced intelligence that was triggered because of slight damage to his brain in pregnancy complications. Without the nudge, his abilities would have stayed dormant. As a result he’s had the mutation since birth. Languages aren’t restricted to words — Tumelo reads body language incredibly well after touching a person, becomes aware of the things they do when lying, excited, nervous or scared.
weaknesses ;
01 : The languages don’t stay in his mind forevermore, he has a memory bank, in which 13 languages are stored at any given moment. The only language that’s always with him is Hindi, it’s the exception to the rule (he has no idea why). Generally, becoming fluent in a new language pushes a stored fluency out.
02 : He needs to have physical contact for his mutancy to work (for him to pick up a language)! And that’s not as easy as it sounds. With humans he needs skin contact — ie bare skin. Face or hands usually work best, but sometimes they’re hard to get to, and it can have repercussions for him/he can get hurt.
03 : Furthermore, he can’t always consciously choose which languages to hold on to. It seems like a lottery — it’s completely at random, and how long a particular fluency has been floating around in his head has nothing to do with it’s booting order. With practice he’s mastered how to hold on to two wanted ones, but that’s it.
❝ THE MUTANT’S OCCUPATION ❞
Seoul promised a lot of things to Tumelo, a lot of things it didn’t necessarily deliver, but he’s never once slipped into the trap of going through the motions. After doing a very specialist course at University based around languages, Tumelo embarked on his search for knowledge, peace, enlightenment… In terms of materialistic value, Tumelo lives very simply with his roommate David in Busan — he owns little and likes it that way. It’s comforting to know he can just pack up and leave in an hours notice. He has a secure job in translating — for people to people, also translating documents. The only cash he needs is for rent, food, books and gas (everything else gets given away). Most of his days are spent reading, seeing sights, praying and meditating. Deeply spiritual, Tumelo believes in stronger forces and endeavors to become more sensitive in understanding the needs of earth itself, and the environment he’s temporarily staying in.
❝ THE MUTANT HIMSELF ❞
Tumelo isn’t often all there in one cohesive mix. You’ll just get shades of the linguist, brief flashes of neon cyan, dusted periwinkle, ultra violet sunrise. The very edges of his soul don’t fit together and they aren’t logical or consecutive, overlapping like coastal waves.
There’s something eerily unworldly about him, makes him seem untouchable (especially when he’s with David), and he doesn’t really mind. He’s usually a rare creature of desired solitude. Doesn’t often seek companionship, but when it’s there he can’t find the heart to dismiss it… Although, he probably won’t nurture it until it makes a significant impression. Tumelo is soft, gentle and slow. Takes his time with everything — getting to appointments, explaining, forming friendships and other relationships. He views every second as a second well spent, reckons he has far too many to ever waste.
He’ll settle for many things, imperfections and rough nights with room for improvement. He’d rather not regret brushing it aside, and has an odd willingness to try with objects that capture his fleeting attention if it’s more convenient than declining. Is Tumelo lazy? Maybe. But he makes it seem like a beautiful thing. He’s a chaotic neutral pacifist. He won’t go out of his way or get overly flustered, just accepting what’s given and making improvements where and when he deems it appropriate.
Tumelo can be seen wandering around often barefooted and chested, reaching to be at one with nature. He smokes regularly, sits cross-legged outside on the lawn, swims in fresh water when it’s winter, attaches himself on to his best friend at times where it’s not entirely appropriate. Not much is known about the slightly exotic face, other than he is a gentle soul from South Africa yet not especially sensitive to other’s emotions. He easily gains respect with the mantra ‘care about me and I’ll care about you’, shy smiles and intense.
He doesn’t care to speak where he knows he will not be heard. His words are careful, they dance upon eggshells, and they’re sparse. Water personified, he walks alone, dreams alone and sleeps alone sheltered by the light of the moonlight filtering through his straggly brown hair.
Please welcome our newest trainee, MEBARAK SHAKIRA, to the Brotherhood! At the moment, she holds the unique ability of VAMPIRE PHYSIOLOGY to her alias, BEAST, which gifts her a place in WEST WING room #001 as well!
❝ THE MUTANT’S GIFT ❞
User with this ability is or can transform into an vampire. A vampire is a being who survives by feeding on the life essence of living creatures (blood). Generally vampires are physically striking individuals with outstanding speed and agility, strength, endurance, superb senses, a living span of nearing ageless and high-level resistance to damage. Some posses special abilities like turning humans into one of their own kind, mental abilities, shape shifting into animals, mist, etc.
Unique Gift: Mind Compulsion
Mind Compulsion allows the user to control another person’s mind by making eye contact, completely forcing the being to follow whatever instruction is given. Compelled beings usually follow the instructions given to them to the best of their ability, sometimes even those that would otherwise be beyond their ‘normal’ capacity. This feat is usually performed through verbal commands.
Applications:
Decelerated Aging
Supernatural Condition:
Enhanced Agility
Enhanced Combat
Enhanced Durability
Enhanced Endurance
Enhanced Senses:
Night Vision
Enhanced Speed
Enhanced Strength
Regenerative Healing Factor
weaknesses ;
As a vampire the need of some form of life-force is necessary. Shakira’s situation is no different than that of a normal vampire. She must feed on blood. The exact amounts and quality varies, as well as the consequences of not feeding. They are usually related with how much physical harm she has been put through or even mental harm. In her case, if she stops feeding for a considerable amount of time she begins to lose her supernatural condition, then she begins to age (if she’s super old it will be noticeable in her appearance) until she dies. The process is much faster than what it seems. It can take only one week for her to die once hunger begins to strive.
Direct sunlight will cause minor burns to exposed skin. The longer the skin recieves sunlight the worse the burn will become until she’s actually catching on fire. Clothing can act as a barrier between skin and sun.
Wooden stake through the heart is fatal.
Decapitation is also a way to put an end to a vampire’s life.
I werewolf bite is also another major weakness. After several days of agonizing, the vampire in contact will die.
The older the stronger. Shakira is only thirty-seven (although she stopped aging at twenty-three) which means her stamina and strength are still not at their peak. She can become tired very easily.
Compulsion can last up for an entire day. If the individual is not compelled again after twenty-four hours the individual will return to their normal self. Psychic beings cannot be compelled.
Compulsion can only be achieved by making eye contact with the individual being compelled.
❝ THE MUTANT HERSELF ❞
As a young girl she had always liked scary movies. Especially the concept of a killer tormenting one individual and killing everyone else except for them. Leaving them with nothing when the movie ends. Yeah, those were her favorites. Little did she know she would later live through a similar scenario.
That terrifying event was caused for one reason and one reason only. An Anti-mutant attack. In the movies there was usually one killer, in this real life story there were about five of them, if not more. Clearly at a disadvantage, since they had studied them for a while, knew about their weaknesses and tactics, Shakira’s family was completely torn and burned, literally. Almost one hundred vampires were killed that night. Shakira was a lucky survivor.
It wasn’t until she was older that she finally understood who and what she was. She learned to embrace it. Even the wealthy adoptive parents that took her in were very nice to her and embraced it. They thought she was a beautiful girl and who wasgifted. They gave her whatever she wanted every time she asked.. or more like, commanded. Of course, she deserved at least one pair of nice parents since the last seven adoptive homes were basically a failure. Thanks to her gift, she had a nice pair of parents. By this time, she was seventeen, and until today she still depends on these parents, at least, monetarily.
It wasn’t until she was twenty-three that she began to learn about her family. The old house she used to live in was intact when she decided to go visit it once more. There she found books and diaries which she dedicated time to read day and night. She learned a lot and it also hurt a lot. But she lived through it. She had to live through it. There was absolutely no way she would stay arms crossed without retaliation. No fucking way.
Fourteen years passed and she did something no one expected. Boldly she moved back into her old house. Of course, word spread quickly upon her return. Soon the whole town was after her, assembling the infamous council that once was responsible for taking her family’s life. It was too dangerous to have one of them linger around. Especially when the girl was the spitting image of her mother. All these actions were just fuel to the fire. She arrived to get revenge and revenge she acquired. The night of the planned attack Shakira was already miles away from them. The town celebrated with joy when, once again, it was free of vampires. Little did they know the town was full of mind controlled young teenagers who claimed and acted like vampires. The headlines were shocking.
”The Most Shocking Massacre In Years!”
Parents kill their own children claiming they were vampires! More than 100 teenagers deceased.
After that little incident she fled. She fled far away where she would never be found. Far away into a group that took notice after the ‘incident’ that faithful night. Smart individuals who saw through the oh so sad events that night.
It was probably the start of something new, something real. Something she had never had in years, but that she craved. Maybe the Brotherhood is exactly where she belonged all along.
「 ⇨ MUSE PERSONALITY」
Stubborn - What she said is final, unless you somehow prove her wrong, which even then, she might still not even listen to you.
Sassy - Oh yes. Watch her sass her way out of an argument, problem or.. anything honestly. She doesn’t even have to talk. Fun, daring, sexy, multifaceted, someone you have to have!
Proud - She believes she’s extremely important and highly regards her issues, as well as others. Although this sometimes makes it hard for her to admit when she’s wrong.
Flirty - Oh how she loves to flirt. If you’re handsome, beautiful, hot, sexy, cute or whatever, she will tell you. There is no wasting time feeling scared or nervous, after all, she’s being nothing but honest.
Dedicated - Once she sets her mind on something she will follow through till the end. There is no going back with this chick?
Loyal - Once she’s sworn loyalty to you (usually just for a short period of time) she will follow through. A promise is a promise.
Conspicuous - It’s probably her smile.. or her hair, or the way she moves, or the very fact that she’s a vampire that pulls you in. Whatever it is, it attracts a lot of attention. Every time she walks into a room people tend to stop and look at her even if it’s for a slight moment.
Please welcome our newest trainer, KIM WONSHIK, to the Brotherhood! At the moment, he holds the unique ability of CONTAGION EMBODIMENT to his alias, ABADDON, which gifts him a place in EAST WING room #004 as well!
❝ THE MUTANT’S GIFT ❞
Ravi is the embodiment of bad influence. Given the simple title of ‘contagion embodiment’, he has the ability which allows him to spread bad influence over those within a set range, much like mind control, but not to be mistaken with. Contagion being used in a negative context, harmful or undesirable contact or influence, is the ability that allows him to fester an idea upon the mind of his chosen victim, which just so happens to fall under the aspect of madness and insanity. His tricks range from making people think they are experiencing something that is not there, and cannot be seen by anyone else, to physically causing said person to lash out in a way that they would not have originally.
As his skills progressed, he gained the ability of actually torturing people, he’s the torture device that doesn’t actually kill anyone unless provoked. As long as he knows the idea, and can feel it happening to himself, he can push that onto someone else [i.e. if he knows a certain technique, then he can make said person feel like they are in that device and that sparks fears of both helplessness and death. He can also make the person force themselves to ‘injure’ themselves on said techniques. They will very much feel the pain in which their mind is telling them, yet no physical damage will occur.]
He can fester an idea upon the mind of someone, and this only appears as a rather split second decision, in which they do not question until Ravi has left their mind completely. They simply carry through the actions and suffer the consequences without ever truly knowing that had overcome them. With this, he can make people do negative things, such as going the lengths of actually hurting, or killing another. They turn into his puppets, tho he only puts the thought in their head. You are your own demon, you much things worse for yourself. He doesn’t control their actions, he simply watches it grow. Because his ability focuses more on the harmful side, Ravi can influence insanity. Therefore INSANITY INDUCEMENT is seen as a strong application of his ability, however this sub power does not simply occur like that, it takes time and often a lot of work on Ravi’s part, and a weak mind of his chosen person.
He is merely the beginning of the contagion in which he can allow to fester out in its own time. He only has to put the idea in someone’s head before they fall victim to themselves.
As a defensive ability, Ravi can use his ability to take control of the opponent and use them as his own weapon. If he controls a mutant, then there is nothing stopping him from aping into their own ability and using that as a weapon. He just has to put the idea of killing their counterparts and allow them to play it out themselves. He can make someone think that they need to hurt someone to feel fulfilment of sorts, because leaving them and allowing the consequences to play out. So to sum it up, he created the idea, he projects the idea, and he lets the idea grow until he cannot control it himself.
As a second development, Ravi can absorb the contagions of those around him, though only if they are significant in their own way. If they are strong enough then he can sense these right down to their source. Once he has found the source of these contagions, the absorption process isn’t as pretty as one could imagine. It is almost like he is sucking the very life force from that person. The contagion becomes a physical form of a translucent black mist which is drawn from the mouth and absorbed into his hands. Through the process, the changing of hue in his eyes pulsates between a rich amber to stark black. After absorbing, the marked that he now possesses it is the amber streak that goes through both eyes like a crack upon the iris.
Once he has reached his limit (which also makes him significantly weaker) his eyes would turn into a fully broken up amber (unlike if he were just using his power, in which turns his eyes gold) mixed with thin streaks of black. The effects of this on a human (or mutant) vary quite drastically. Humans are guaranteed to pass out from the experience, for their energy level deplete incredibly, which mutants may react differently. If the mutant has a strong mental capacity and energy levels then they shouldn’t be as strongly effected and drained as human. They may come across as weaker, but they will remain conscious. Usually this lasts until they have temporarily recovered, which is entirely based on the strength level they can muster.
His weaknesses do evolve throughout this process for he must take in those contagions. Because he does indeed embody contagion, the effect that these have on others doesn’t entirely work to their strongest on him. He can still very much feel that they are there, but they only present themselves as an itch or nudged before he can almost completely look over them (this takes development however.) The more he absorbs the weaker his resistance to them all. If he carried five at a time, he will lose his barrier at times and fall victim to those that he carries. If he reaches his limit then he may completely crack and lose his sanity completely. This is why he must pass these contagions on to others as to free himself. These contagions then become his weapons.
A third development is the set range in which he can use his ability, and the amount of people he can ‘control’. He range varies to approximately to line of sight, he needs to see them in order to use his ability, but they cannot be too far away that he has trouble, and his control of people can doubled. Before he could control approximately two people comfortably, now he is confident in a small room of people all doing exactly the same thing. He can walk in a room and have everyone do as he says as he sits down and watches it play out like a sick comedy show.
weaknesses ;
01 : Having expanded his previous control over people at the same time, he can now control approximately 25 to 30 people, depending on the close proximity that they are in. He strengthen his capacity and can now do it comfortably. However he still needs to be able to see and feel those without the room, he cannot go into it blind. Due to this being his stuck limit, he is restricted on who he can influence, therefore he goes for the stronger mutants who can aid him rather than the weaker ones.
02 : He is still prone to sudden migraines, yet the bleeding noses have stopped. Since strengthening his mind, Ravi can control people for longer than his old ten minutes, and the headaches are harder to provoke. Though that doesn’t meant that they haven’t stopped all together. If someone has a strong mind, then he will focus his full attention and energy into controlling them before anyone else. And this takes its toll on him. He is prone to becoming exhausted after long periods of time, and it may get to the point where he can no longer concentrate. If he reaches his limit of 30 people, he is prone to distractions.
03 : Ravi must be able to see his target before he can do anything. Therefore people with the ability that can obscure his vision [i.e. sand, dust, smoke or even the dark] can find themselves unaffected by his power unless they are in plain sight. He panics when he cannot see, because he is deemed hopeless. Therefore he must protect his vision at all costs, in a fight he will constantly cover his eyes from any targeted attacks. He must also be able to concentrate, and is prone to falling victim to strong distractions, such as anyone who can effect sound, or physical abilities that may caught harm to him. He cannot target anyone with mind shields.
04 : He has a limit on how many contagions he can absorb within himself. The more that he carried, the weaker his mental barriers are in blocking the effects out. Depending on how he develops his strength in this area, he may carry up to three before he begins to grow antsy, and show the classis sighs of these contagions as mental disorders. However, he knows very well that in order to recover, all he has to do is pass them on.
❝ THE MUTANT HIMSELF ❞
Originally Ravi had been the audacious school bully with an ego too big for anyone to handle, but upon the sudden changes in not only his only life, but the majority of others around him, Ravi slipped from reality. He became cold and distant, and hated the idea of depending on anyone. He was his own person and wanted it to stay that way, even more so when it came to the idea of sharing his life with another person, he hated it more than anything. He cut all ties between himself and those he deemed his friends, and simply drifted away. At the time that he had decided on such a way to escape, he hadn’t been in his right state of mind, and with the built up contagions he stored within himself, he was questioning whether or not he was truly in the right moment. He was going crazy. As a person in general, Ravi remained as the bully with the loud mouth and blunt nature, for there was nothing in the world that would change that. He would remain the air head that ran head first into any tough situation, and would remain as smug as ever.
Ravi’s family had abandoned him, kicking him out of the home and sending him off the first chance they had, simply because he was the very thing that had driven their only daughter to a mind crippling insanity. It only seemed when Ravi was finally out of the picture that she began to recover, and Ravi accepted that it was his doing that his family life had gone to shit. So, he found himself at Xavier’s school, a mutant school and simply wished to evolve his skills, develop himself as a person, and move on – to forget the past and grow stronger.
Xavier’s school, however, only seemed to become a hostile environment in which he didn’t believe he belonged in after the events of Discord. He was a wanted mutant who had killed humans, as well as mutants. He needed to escape, and so he did. Upon entering Busan as a citizen, Ravi was a mess and this seemed to be provoked more through an unfortunate event that cleared his memory and allowed him to lose grip with reality. It wasn’t until an unprovoked attack on gathered students that Ravi was promptly dragged back to the school and put through a harsh rehabilitation to restore those lost memories and tell him who he truly was. Despite his arguments against it, Ravi drew strength from it, and slipped into a more level headed and strong audacious idiot who was too blunt in the way he went about things, and said an even louder fuck you to the government. He wanted to be known and he wanted to share the pain he’d gone through to simply be accepted. It was through the Brotherhood that these ideals were allowed to bloom.
Please welcome our newest neutral human citizen, KIM KYEONGMI, to the city of Busan! At the moment, she is a(n) HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT, which gifts her a place in BAYVIEW apt #001 as well!
❝ THE HUMAN’S OCCUPATION ❞
a street rat by name more than status (because really she isn’t exactly “living on the streets” as she is casually terrorizing in her spare time), kyeongmi is nothing more than an everyday high school girl with a mile long rebellious streak. she attends the local high school in her district, a semi-prestigious academy that has dropped in terms of status since her first year—that’s obvious, of course, given the slowly rotting state of busan as a whole—though kyeongmi more or less stops by for a class or three before checking herself out for the day (usually before PE; because man, she already owns physical education, why take it?) in favor of roaming the streets (mainly in the arcades) and occasional visit to the thrift shops of the good part of town. she has no occupation other than that—on the request of her pops, who insisted he could take care of her all own his own—but possesses a variety of odd skills such as pick-pocketing, scamming, bullshitting, and well, general fix-it know-hows around the house (got a leak? duck tape it).
❝ THE HUMAN HERSELF ❞
ONE. DAEGU PRINCESS
she’s born on the 24th of september – pops calls her his little princess, but kyeongmi doesn’t quite acknowledge it till one incident at age six leaves her ruling the nearby playground with a chubby fist. she is the best at swings, thebest at tag, the best of the best. even when repercussions hit and she spends three hours kneeling in a corner.
worth it.
TWO. ABANDONED BAGGAGE
considered baggage to a woman who wanted more out of life, kyeongmi and her father are left behind when she decided to pursue her dream as god knowswhat (kemy doesn’t bother to fucking think about it anymore) in seoul. the two remain in daegu for a good year or two till pops gets fired from his job and goes through a semi mid-life crisis that inspires their uprooting and move to busan.
he says it’s for the better.
hah.
THREE. TEENAGE TRASH
she spends her high school years within the busan as somewhat compliant (but not really) student of her school. pops manages to find a job as a plumber, but seeing as he often makes more mistakes than fixes things, they live in the smaller apartments of bayview. kyeongmi doesn’t really mind, however, her appa is absentminded, at times a drunk, a gambling addicting – but there’s no denying that he loves her. though there’s also no denying that she takes advantage of his neglect to skip school and hang with kids far older than her own as well as making a (bad) name for herself among the neighborhood ahjummas (they say she's trash, she does more bad than good)—it’s fun, who gives a fuck?
Please welcome our newest advanced student, JUNG ILHOON, to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters! At the moment, he holds the unique ability of METAL MIMICRY to his alias, BAR, which gifts him a place in room #203 as well!
❝ THE MUTANT’S GIFT ❞
Ilhoon’s ability affects his whole body when activated. He can consciously control it, but his body mimics the density, look, and weight of metal in moments of danger or anger. At first he could only mimic one single type of metal, but as he grew up, the power then acclimated to all the metals he’s touched which resulted in the ability to form an alloy with his skin. When in metal form, his strength and weight increase as well as durability against outside forces. His body also drops in temperature to create a cool, smooth surface. Although his weight increases, mobility remains the same; rather than awkward bundle of clunky limbs, his ability has been practiced to the point that it feels like a second skin.
WEAKNESSES ;
01 : Even if he looks and feels like metal, his body is simply mimicking it. This ability, though, doesn’t translate into other surfaces and can end badly if he forces it. This means that although he can hold it for a long time, complications can arise if he’s ever in his metal form for too long. His body will start to spasm and his adaptability decreases.
02 : When in metal form, he isn’t completely invincible, but rather falls victim to the same dangers normal metal faces ( other than rust ). Heat is his main weakness and decreases his strength. If the temperature drops below the one he usually maintains, his movements slow as his body loses mobility.
03 : Any damage done to his metal form ( whether of heat or anything that can pierce metal ) will translate back into his regular form. He might be durable, but any strong wound will bring a grave parallel in his human skin or organs. In extreme cases of injury, the wound will directly push him back into his human form—an act completely out of his control.
❝ THE MUTANT HIMSELF ❞
Ilhoon was born and raised in Los Angeles to less than wealthy parents. He, along with his best friend, learned at a young age that they were different—mutants. Although they didn’t see the immediate problem, after all childish curiosity and play clouded their judgement, they did their best to continue on with a life of normalcy. As they grew up, though, the differences between normal citizens and freakish mutants became clear in their lives and left no option but to become an active voice. It started in his teenage years after reports of mutant violence clambered out of the TV and into his shocked ears. Violence for a simple difference was a ghastly difference to the life of tolerance he’d learn to know and, in the midst of the perilous journey of his teenage years, he began to be an active voice. It was never a huge difference he made, but rather a support position in whatever his fellow pro mutant activists needed. Marches, protests, and many other events droned by in his life, and at seventeen he’d grown tired of it. Humanity seemed to be unchanging—worsening even—so instead of continuing his plight for equal views, he decided to further his own gifts and take a moment for himself. He was found by a quiet figure that never explained themselves—and they didn’t have to. Ilhoon, with information regarding exactly the venture he’d been looking for, excitedly packed his bags and moved to Busan without looking back (except for his mother). Now he attends Xavier’s without having dampened his passion at all; the glow of revolution still lingers in his eyes.
His personality differs on the topic. For daily life he’s joking, straightforward, and perhaps annoying to the people around him. He carries confidence that he’s not quite sure he’s earned the right to, but he figures no one has to know that. Although he’s outgoing and rather loud, he’s never one to take the leadership position voluntarily, but won’t back out if needed. Comedy seems to be a prevalent factor in his life; acting foolish, though, is just a way to cope and keep optimism high. When the topic switches to something he’s passionate about, though, his demeanor completely changes. He grows serious, committed, even furious at times. These instances are rare to see as he’s under control most of the time, but he protects a short fuse to his temper that’s only led him to trouble in the past. Generally he’s amiable, friendly, accessible, and direct.
Please welcome our newest advanced student, NAM WOOHYUN, to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters! At the moment, he holds the unique ability of ELECTRICITY MANIPULATION to his alias, CIRCUIT, which gifts him a place in room #201 as well!
❝ THE MUTANT’S GIFT ❞
Because lightning storms are not an everyday phenomenon, Woohyun’s form of electricity manipulation primarily relies on absorbing electricity from power sources, such as electronics and power lines. By passing the electricity through his body, he is able to redirect it though his hands (or feet, if need be). The projection may take on one of three varying forms: Bolts, Shocks, or Static.
Bolts are typically Woohyun’s long-distance attack of choice and usually materialize as a type of lighting bolt. The electricity used must either come from a direct power source, or may be stored in his body. The more recent the stored energy is, the better, as the charge cannot not be contained indefinitely.
Shocks are primarily used by sending electricity through another person at a close rage. Depending on the level of concentration, the shocks can rage from a sharp prick to a deadly electrocution. For the latter, Woohyun must be physically touching the person and can either concentrate the electricity to either fry the brain or shutdown the vital organs. — Using shocks for defibrillation requires the most control, so as not to cook the unconscious person. Woohyun is not at the level he can use his powers for resuscitation.
Static is commonly used to overpower electronic devices and cause electrical surges. When fully developed, Woohyun should be able to quietly override and destroy large electronic devices, but as he stands now, he is only able to short-circuit things without making them explode.
Because his body is able to create a natural (though typically less powerful) electrical charge, there is a theory that if he is trained well enough, Woohyun may be able to sense other people’s bioelectric presence, but he is nowhere near that level, yet.
weaknesses ;
01 : Woohyun’s abilities are unable to affect any rubberized surface.
02 : Though his body can conduct some electricity, it is not enough to run solely on, which is why he needs to be near a source or store electricity in his body. HOWEVER, his body becomes weak if he stores ‘foreign’ electricity in his body for too long. If he uses it all up without recharging, he runs the risk using draining himself completely. Doing so would typically lead to death.
03 : He does not have the capacity to absorb and store infinite amounts of electricity. Doing so could overload and kill him. The bigger the divice, the more electricity he needs to absorb.
04 : Because of his natural current, he cannot touch people while they are wet, unless he is wearing special gloves. Subsequently, he does not swim or shower with others for fear of electrocuting them.
05: He is wary of gas leaks and people with powers pertaining to gas control. Unintentional explosion are not fun.
❝ THE MUTANT HIMSELF ❞
Not to get too lame, but since puberty Woohyun had been aware of his electric personality. Though the irony in that statement would take awhile to truly manifest. His mother claimed he was a charmer—able to talk himself out of most trouble with his teachers, and fights with bigger kids—but whatever it was, people seemed drawn to Woohyun. Though somewhat loud and obnoxious, there was something interesting and appealing about the way he interacted with people. Even the first girl he ever kiss claimed that kissing Nam Woohyun was like nothing else—she felt sparks.
However, she wasn’t the only one.
Woohyun had a habit of shocking people whenever he touched people. Like most people, he and those around him chalked it up to your everyday static shock, but eventually the shocks became more frequent and stronger. But that wasn’t what got Woohyun’s attention. No, not at all.
He was 15 when things began to get weird, and lights refusing to turn on, and the TV began to flicker, and the cellphone calls began to get dropped. At first no one thought anything of it; whenever he had parents or his friends try, nothing out of the ordinary would happen. But as time passed and household electronics began to burnout and shut off whenever he came in contact with them, Woohyun and his parents became suspicious about the truth behind these coincidences. However, no one said anything.
By the time he was 17, Woohyun he knew for sure there was something was wrong with him. His parent’s never said anything but when Woohyun began to wear gloves around the house no one questioned him. The gloves acted as a barrier and prevented him from destroying electronics. At school, Woohyun did his best to divert any suspicion. When people asked for his number, he’d laugh and fain some embarrassment when he claimed that his parents wanted him to focus on his studies and refused to buy him a cellphone. Naturally he got teased, but Woohyun managed to laugh it off; their jokes were nothing to what they might say his classmates knew the truth.
Into his 18th year, Woohyun managed to avoid anything that might bring forth the truth. However, one rainy day changed everything. He had been running late for a big test and he wasn’t thinking. He had been cramming all night and his sleep-deprived brain didn’t comprehend the consequences until it was too late. He had been running up the wet cement steps to the school with a few other students when a cry from behind caught his attention. His fingertips had just grabbed the metal door when he turned to see a girl behind him lose her footing and jerk backwards. Without thinking, Woohyun reached out to grab her with his free hand, and it happened.
Students claimed they had seen a bold of lighting hit the pair, but as Woohyun stared down at the unconscious girl, he knew the truth. He had a part in what happened. The girl would live, but never be okay.
After the incident was the first time he and his parents talked. The conversation was loud and tearful and the whole apartment building lost power every so often. But they talked. And a few months later, Woohyun found himself at the gates of the Xavier School. Was this really were he belonged?
