Underrated moment: WWX & LWJ in the temple at the end. Fairy shows up, WWX dives behind his arm and when Fairy starts barking, LWJ just wordlessly holds up his super drapey sleeve for WWX to be fully hidden behind. The deadpan expression killed me.

ok so i used this one as a LOOSE reference; i’ve helped make a lot of my mom’s pies before so i just sort of winged it? 

the recipe calls for crystallized chopped ginger and chopped almonds, but I just used apples for mine bc i wanted the apples to be the main flavor. 

Instead of using brown sugar and putting in lime juice, i actually just used an organic marmalade from Trader Joe’s as a glaze, which i mixed with the apples along with the spices and saffron.You just need a couple tablespoons of the marmalade (enough to cover all the apples in), a little sugar if it’s not sweet enough/too wet, and about a tsp of cornstarch or flour so the filling isn’t runny. For the spices, I used ground ginger (fresh ginger is good too, but only if you have people eating who like the taste of non-dried ginger) cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg, plus the crushed saffron and a tsp of vanilla extract. Minus the bulk of the ginger and almonds like in the recipe linked, I used about 6-8 apples for one standard sized pie, rather than 4. The apples will cook down so you’ll want to fill the pie pan so it makes just a bit of a mountain. And last but not least, pie crust works best if you use butter, and keeping it cold and not handling the dough a lot makes a huge difference! it tastes best served with freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream :)

if it's bed bugs, lavender has helped me out a lot. We made a lavender tea and I put it in a spray bottle to use on the bed. A lot of flea sprays are also good for bedbugs if it gets that bad

we’re gonna try that... even though i am allergic to lavender... i’d rather deal with the headaches than the itches...

OC Meme Thing: my Warden Siari did her best to keep her head down in the Alienage, but always wound up getting into fistfights, usually because of her cousins.

Maidhriel thought it was stupid of the Keeper to send her sister to the Conclave, and even stupider for her sister to actually go… And just look what happened. Malenna gets left alone for a short while and she ends up caught in an explosion, becomes some sort of Shem hero, and –by the dread wolf– actually falls in love with a shem.  Maidh’s face is bright red from facepalming so hard.

Guess it’s time to pick up her bow and rescue her idiot little sister.
