I’m currently on Episode 28 (with ZERO spoilers so far, so PLEASE, don’t spoil it for me), but let me confess: I am living for every single unhinged second that murderous Emperor Xia Jingyan is on-screen. I already have the most adorable little crush on Qin Tianyu - and he’s still perfect even when he’s terrorizing everyone and laughing like he just unlocked full villain DLC.

He’s not actually trying to help Xiyang understand the consequences of her own actions - he’s just manipulating her, obviously. But the part that gets me is: NO LIES DETECTED. I’m not blaming her entirely - she’s just a sheltered princess with limited power - but MY GOD, I cannot stand characters who weaponize their obsession and then force everyone else to suffer for it. PLEASE. HAVE. SOME. SELF-RESPECT.

And yes, the true villain in that marriage is Xia Jingshi. He knew he would never love her and still got married like it was just another Tuesday. Could he have told her beforehand? Absolutely. Would she have listened? Absolutely not. Love-brained humans MAKE ME RAGE. Touch some grass, people!

Anyway. I’m going to need a completely separate post to scream about Chen Zheyuan, because I refuse to believe there exists a mortal who can watch this show and not fall hopelessly in love with him. Every time he JUMPS on that horse? I’m rewinding. I have a competency kink, and that entire horsemanship situation is doing Olympic-level damage to my heart. I can’t be normal about it. I won’t be.

Hear me out... I am not saying their pairing isn't toxic and he is a red flag turned grey for me and the trope of enemies to lovers does work but then again if feng suige and fu yixao can grow from enemies to lovers..I dont see how these two cant have the same..the acting btw was on point for the emperor how he subtly changed for xiyang how he tried to act non chalant when she was leaving with his baby again he is an asshole to his brother his past sins cannot be excused but I am wondering about the potential since we saw a glimpse of what he could be..no one believed in his potential he was actually perceptive to call that his brother was a wolf in sheep's clothing..anyhow kudos to them both.

The idiot princess continues to not make any sense, like... her (ex, I guess? she never signed those divorce papers, instead she ripped them apart, but okay) husband offers his support (and say what you want about Xia Jingshi, but he was always upfront with her, so I think his offer to help is sincere), and what does she do?
