Impressions after reading She-Hulk #1 and Ms. Marvel #1

Well, it been a bit since I talked other company's comics. I guess this new comic book day I guess I will talk about 2 comics I was  kinda looking forward to reading. Being that I am a fan of both, it seems like  I would be more excited about saying  something about them. But, I am not. In a way, both left me kinda flat but yet still a bit interested in them. Today, I read She-Hulk #1 and Ms. Marvel #1. Let's start with Ms. Marvel #1. I must say I like the tie in to Kamala's heritage and culture in the issue. Kinda hard to tell if she was in high school or college. But the fan fiction twist was interesting. But yet it didn't explain how she manifested her powers.  But that's the beauty of the issues. It was kinda reminiscent of the origin of the Original Ms. Marvel. Overall, this issue is not for those comic fans  who want an immediate pay off in the first issue. But it is a series to watch to see which direction it will go in. Now, She-Hulk #1 is quite different. Let me first start off by saying that, to me, this series is a reboot of the character. The reason I say that is that  Jennifer Walter is back practicing law. This was something that has to be explained later to those who closely follow the character or you just have to treat it as a "the writer say so" type series. Anyway, the story revolves around again about how she didn't quite fit into another firm and  was eventually approached by a person who needed her help on a legal matter. (If you want to know the specifics, pick up the book and read it). There was a good amount of humor in it. Not quite of the same calibur of Slott or Byrne. But it pay homage to some of the things they did with shulkie. Overall, I was left kinda disappointed. I am happy that she is opening her own practice again. Just have to wait to she what new things this creative team is going to do with She-Hulk other than change the art style. Well that is it. For those who are waiting for the result from the challenge from the creative staff of Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose, please be patient with me. I need to get the first two issue of that story arc before I talk about. Speaking of which, I haven't read the latest Superman Wonder Woman yet. I may have another NOT ABOUT  XIGENCY STUDIOS INC COMICS post to do. Anyway, time to do some more comic scripting. Enjoy your evening!
