He swears he's been here before, in deluded memories of brashness & haze ( Some drugs, man ), he's sure he's wandered the exact same streets before. A year or two back, maybe, he'll push it to three if needed be; everything before the shooting was a blur & a half. Yet it feels quieter now ( Had it been before? ), pushing a sharp edge to delicate senses; he's not as confident as he used to be. But his best efforts hid it, so no one could spare a passing glance.
He couldn't miss her, not with the sound of shoes against the sidewalk, & it's a comforting break from the warping silence. "Hey--" Left arm shoots up alongside his voice, a means to get her notice ( Or outright ignore him ). "You live near here?"

a hand REACHES up, pushing the glasses that had been SLIDING down the bridge of his nose into place. quietly walking up to stand NEXT to the other, he gestures toward the books looking so lonely there on the SHELF.
