CW: HUGE Naviangey info dump ft. Xilonen, we are entering the Natlan arc
Thinking about unveiling a new arc to the Naviangey lore; The Saurian Salon Arc. Since Angey is a famous pet groomer in Fontaine, I imagine Ifa reaches out to her to have her come to Natlan as he needs help with a Saurian adoption fundraiser. Angey is basically called in to help groom all the Saurians in need of new homes and makes them look presentable to potential owners. The fundraiser is called “The Saurian Salon” and will act as an actual ingame event that players can get involved in.
As this is a trip to a new region that Angey is unfamiliar with, Navia tags along because she simply just couldn’t leave Angey alone lmao. When they get there, I imagine there will be a cutscene in which there is a festival with live music is playing. Navia and Angey stop to join in, as work for Angey doesn’t start until the next day. Navia being the romantic that she is, grabs Angey and attempts to dance with her. However, since she is Fontanian, the only style of dance she knows are slow dances and waltzes which obviously don’t fit the upbeat reggaeton of the event. It is here that Xilonen —one of the DJs behind the event— notices Navia and Angey waltzing and slides in to interrupt.
“Woah, alright I dig this whole getup but that’s not really what we do here. Here, I’ll show you,” and Xilonen snags Angey right out of Navia’s arms, keen on showing Navia how dancing is really done in Natlan. Navia is quite shocked at how bold Xilonen’s movements are, shaking her hips and even grinding against Angey to the beat of the drums. And poor Angey isn’t sure what’s happening as she is incredibly flustered by this whole ordeal, but finds herself slowly vibing along.
Navia tries to join in to take back her woman, but her rhythm is so bad as she isn’t used to this style of dance. It’s like that scene in Rio 2 where Roberto steals Jewel for a dance and Blu tries to join in with the crowd but his rhythm just sucks. Navia is like Blu, clumsily bouncing around while Angey gets the hang of it and is swept away by Xilonen and the crowd.
Did Navia just get her girl stolen? Well, judging from the flower Xilonen suddenly places in Angey’s hair mid-dance, maybe 😨. But perhaps Navia challenges Xilonen to a dance off during their stay in Natlan to impress Angey…
Anyways, this tension is happening simultaneously with the wholesome Saurian Salon event. Idk how Angey balances working at the fundraiser with these two women fighting over her, but she manages. This also opens up a gateway to potential Xilovia since I do see them being on good terms in the end, despite bickering. Navia probably ends up liking Xilonen, unlike a certain pink haired kitsune…
