One day I’ll get the hang of spontaneity
Low-effort meme based on the struggle
Here’s a thing I don’t understand
Why do some people aggressively elect to *not* talk about shared interests, when they clearly want to make some kind of conversation? I’ve encountered this phenomenon a few times, mostly by talking to people from dating apps but upon reflection it’s happened with people I’ve met organically too. Like we’ll have some interest in common; programming or martial arts or something and that’s always exciting to me right?! so I’ll toss out a handful of conversational hooks on the topic, only to be shut down with some single sentence response. At which point I’m like “okay, I guess they don’t want to talk to me” - which, you know, that’s fine - so I’ll stop responding. But then I’ll immediately get some boring-ass bs question like “what did you eat today” like ???
why are you doing this ??
we could be having a delightful conversation about something cool that we both like and you elect to drag us through the mud of small talk instead? why?? Maybe it’s just the autism, but I don’t understand that at all, and it’s happened often enough to be deeply puzzling.
Pointlessly gendered products are a scheme by big gender to sell more gender
