Xin Zhui who is also known as Lady Day was the Marquise of Dai during the Western Han dynasty in ancient China. Her tomb was found 2,000 years after her death inside a hill named Mawangdui in China with hundreds of valuable artifacts and documents alongside her body. What surprised everyone, however, was how incredibly well preserved her body was thousands of years after her death. Lady Day was found with all of her organs and blood vessels intact, there was also a small amount of Type A blood found in her veins, and she still had hair and eyelashes. Xin Zhui's body, who died in 163 BCE, is so well preserved that her skin is still soft her arms and legs can bend, and her internal organs are still intact.

do you ever think about your last meal?

not necessarily in the sad way but like, the stupid way. imagine you’re eating tomato, and say you sliced them into chunks instead of thin slices, and you’re mindlessly munching away and all of a sudden you got a huge chunk lodged in your throat and you fucking die knowing it was because of a tomato. 

it makes me think how they unearthed the tomb of Xin Zhui, Lady Dai, the one and only Diva Corpse, how she was so well preserved, they found the seeds of the fruit she last ate in her stomach. 

Imagine dying and having the seeds of the dumbest fucking wannabe-vegetable in your stomach (or throat, depending.) 

I don’t know, I just think about it a lot. I guess not only in the stupid way, but also the sad way. Imagine laying there, knowing exactly what your last meal is going to be. Imagine being so loved  that someone can learn exactly what it was 2000 years after your death.
