“I feel weird… what was in that drink…?”
The anguish of beingbetrayed by someone who he trusted more than himself was painful, it never occurredto him that he could do it, even when he knew that he was drugged. Joonmyeonknows no limits when it comes to people who he had grown to love and protect. As soon as his eyes were opened with the possibilities of death being a friendof his on a certain narrow road where his enemies lie, he knew that he willhave to deal with everything by himself, by these people who became his familywas more than he could ever treasure.
No wonder that as soonas he entered the club that he was told where the young vampire hunter was, dignity torn by embarrassment that he caused the whole night, his eyes show mortification, and dishonor, combined with the painful eerie that Zero betrayed him.
The mischief that wascaused by the man who took the oath in front of him, and the way he promisedhis wife’s safety was more than Joonmyeon could ever be thankful for, theynever hit the high note where the young man and him would be placed on the sameroad, thinking of the same thing, but they knew that despite their opposite naturecompelling each other’s beliefs, Zero is his friend—no, his best friend, whocame in his life with his brother who became his own family. The three becameinseparable, but Joonmyeon has a better priority now, and Zero was at thebottom list.
“I feel weird… what was in that drink…?”
“How dare you.” Heenters the club, dressed with the same clothes that he wore inside his ownhouse, where he took the call of the bartender that concluded that Zero was toostoned to even think; Joonmyeon has his eyes red, his nails growing by the tipsof his fingers, the anger is visible in the glare that he’s throwing at theother, his hair was not in the nice ebony shade but in the mahogany thatcompresses the insipid façade that his skin emits. “How dare you tell Kriswhere my wife is? I fucking trusted you.”
He was with Baekhyunwhen he received the call, the third call that they got the night Joohyun waskidnapped while he was working out—first was from Kris, second was from thebartender, and third was from the former male, and he knew that he was neverreally patient in handling events as such, but he took his pride with him assoon as he stomps forward, fingers gripping the collar of Zero’s plaid shirt. “Iknow you’re selfish. I know you’d do whatever you can to kill everyone in yoursight. But Kris was never your fight, Zero. Kris is mine, and your job was toprotect my queen.” Voice stern, the dangerous tone that everyone loathed andfeared, Suho is soon eating the gentleness that Joonmyeon had.
How dare he try to geta conversation with his nemesis?
How dare he take atime off from prioritizing the safety of his wife, and the child that she willsoon bear?
How dare he act like he is an innocentvictim of the story, when he knew—Suho knows that Zero isn’t as stupid as howhe was deemed to be, but now, maybe, just maybe, he was wrong from the start. Apparently, the drink that the other took had a pill that could spill anything that the interrogatorasks of him; Kris was the one asking the questions, Zero never failed to answerhim.
And now he has to feel Suho’s wrath, beforeKris could.
“She’s taken away from me.” The smashing ofthe bottles of vodka, beer, and costly wines echoes through the bar. Everyonestopped dancing; the man behind the stereo, in-charge of the music paused inhis own shameful—sex filled tracks, Suho pushed Zero over the counter table, manhandling him over to the elongated bar, fingers clutched upon the expanse ofhis neck, nails digging on his skin, possibly drawing blood, but he couldn’tstop himself from feeling the pain around his chest.
Joohyun was taken away from him because ofthe man who had been too selfish for his own good. If he could have told himhow Kris wanted to talk, and then maybe, they could have calculated his move. But Kris knew them too well, and he knew how Zero had always preferred workingalone.
Baekhyun tries stopping him but there’s noone that could stop a King from killing unless faced with his innocent Queen.
“If anything happens to Joohyun, I swear toevery single man in this earth—”Now his fingers, index and thumb are pressedalong his jaw, possibly cracking a bone between his ear and his neck, beforethrowing him over to the other side of the bar, his body smashing the stereo, causing the people to scatter around them, running, screaming, trying to find away out of the mess that he created. Suho had always been merciless, and hewill do anything to protect his family.
“I will killyou.”
