As she comes upon a bench on her way back home from the training grounds, Kaeko accepts the opportunity to rest for a moment upon a bench at the edge of an empty park. Rays of dawn's light are just beginning to peek over the east horizon. The sky is a burst of color growing more vibrant with each passing moment, a beautiful backdrop to the silhouette of the various buildings reaching toward the heavens all around her. To the west roll clouds rich with thunder, occasionally brightened by a crack of lightning. There's a fresh scent in the air, a telling sign that rain will soon begin to fall. The sky is both angry and serene all at once, and Kaeko wishes only that there was someone to appreciate this beautiful scene with. She's been alone for a while now, and she's still not accustomed to it. It feels wrong when she's spent her whole life in the company of one brother or another.
Astra always takes the long way home when she’s feeling adventurous.. or when she’s tired and wants away from other people--and it’s rare for her to find someone standing where she usually does. But she’s not surprised. The sky is turning green, ready to storm.
But this one doesn’t fear it.
“It’s quite beautiful this morning, isn’t it?” Astra finds herself leaning against the side of the bench, her eyes on the sky. “Most tend to run from storms like this,” she comments lightly-- and it’s the truth. Most do.
Most fear the lightning.
But why would Astra fear it when the lightning is an extension of herself--? How could she fear it if she’s lived through it’s touch already?
“But I think they’re quite beautiful. Electrifying, even.” She shares a private half-smile, as if she’s telling a joke only she knows the answer to.
