I would but I didn't have enough money to do that today v.v I got plenty of white (2 yards) since it was cheap but the green I got was a little pricier so I could only get a yard of it...

It's okay, I understand. I have about 4 months to do it so I have room to play around. I just hope I can find the same material later on in case I screw up. ^ ^'

The only person I know who sews in my little town is this older woman that showed me the basics and she ONLY (and I mean ONLY) goes by patterns she has. Without patterns she is basically useless. I spoke about toying with a pattern to get a look I wanted for my mom's cosplay and it flew way over her head and all it was that I said was I was going to make the string part of the apron all one piece @_@ Needless to say it wouldn't be worth trying to ask her about this.

Well maybe you can get a pattern for a dress shirt at a crafts store and see how you could change the design?

See I was thinking about that while I was at Walmart but then I remembered I still have my Sutherland's shirt that I could just dismantle completely and use as kind of a basic template. But it's the main part of the shirt that's split between black and white that I'm still trying to plan out. @_@
