XL is a type of villain I think we see often but never executed as smoothly
XL is your general mix of genius and incompetence, but in a bruiser type, having crafted a new body for himself with stolen technology.
But there isn't constant lampshading of calling out how he's both smart and dumb, the writing just lets it speak for itself
Like how he can mastermind an elaborate kidnapping in order to get someone's personal information to mail a bomb under their name...and the bomb he's built is comedically large and obvious
