Anyone that dared to wander along the long corridor that led to Jun’s modest room would face, on this unique occasion, his cousin standing at the center of the walls around her. If they attempted to kick her out, she would simply turn around, for her back faced the entrance, and tell them that the only living member of her family left the Institute without whispering a word of it to her. She’d make them believe that she was engulfed with confusion, guilt and nostalgia.
Obviously, they would believe her just as much as Jun never doubted the lies he had been fed with from the moment he had stepped inside Sunny’s apartment and until she sent him away to this school.
There she stood, barely moving an inch of her body and taking in her environment, which comprised of the basic furniture she believed was already here before his arrival. The rest that he had taken with him to god knows where probably didn’t take much place either; the room didn’t look much different from her last visit to him. The only element that stood was surely – what was it – her name again? Sojung? Yes, the white cat that kept purring for him and that would calm down his heartbeat whenever the blonde would be the cause of its irregular pounding.
Intelligence hadn’t been kind to her desire – and need – to locate her dear baby cousin. He disappeared without much of a trace and, Sunny suggested to herself, there were chances that he faded away in some part of the Land of Wonder that made it difficult for her to just dig in freely. Perhaps Sori, in which mutant laws were much stricter. Jun would’ve been able to vanish in the mass, whereas his guardian made a show of herself to share her beliefs with the population.
He managed to slip in between the little holes she hoped he wouldn’t fall in. It was his win and her loss.
However, as Sunny swung herself out of the window, she just knew that if he ever slipped up, the vigilante would be able to exert her control over his faithful puppet.
