How do I transfer xPad to Mavericks? When I try to copy xPad from SL to mavericks all I get is the app but none of the documents that were in it.
xPad contents are found in ~/Application Support/xPad/. Copy that over to the new Mac.
Simmtronics has entered the competitive smartphones market by announcing the launch of a new range of Android powered devices in India. Amazingly, it seems to work just fine. That will make this the 10th year and 7th major OS X release since I built xPad and it still works effectively perfectly without a single update in nearly a decade. Goes to show you how stable the core AppKit components in OS X have been over the years. Not too shabby considering I didn't know what the hell I was doing when I built xPad.Also worth noting: Since I reset statistics 3 years ago, xPad has been downloaded over 260,000 times. I don't even know what to do with that information—it's insane.

Is scratch the unofficial successor to xPad?
We didn't intend for it to be. Shawn came up with the idea for Scratch and pitched it to the team (and then engineered and led the project), and never once did we realize the similarity between the two apps. But it makes perfect sense to me that we'd create both xPad and Scratch, since we're always trying to build tools for ourselves to work better. xPad solved a problem I was having back in 2005 (managing lots of text documents on my Mac) and Scratch solves a problem we have today (quick note taking and jotting stuff down on the iPhone and then doing something with the content). We're thrilled it's solving that problem for other people too.
