         that’s totally not a smile she’s fighting to hold back, definitely not one of those ‘told you so’ ones. after not seeing each other for god knows how long, they jump right back into it like nothing ever happened.

It seemed like the sort of advice he'd been giving out a lot lately. Between the goings on in the downworld and the goings on at the Institute it felt like he was constantly repeating himself. Or maybe that's just how things were supposed to be. In the past he normally didn't care what went on inside the Institute. The nephilim had always looked down on them and he knew that it wouldn't change any time soon. Not unless something changed within the Clave itself and having seen where they all came from, Magnus knew it, too, would be a bit of a stretch. It wouldn't stop him from helping those in need but he would put most of his focus on the downworld. Which had him wondering who the stranger was and why they'd come to him. Was it another mundane looking for a potion? Or something else? "Which I'm sure you know all about. So what brings you to my doorstep?"

“guess that depends if you wanna have another one,” she jokes, a weary laugh escaping her as he slips back into bed. on the other side of the baby monitor, things are finally quiet, with parker resting peacefully on a full stomach. pasha can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief, eyelids already heavy, sleep pressing in close. she’d expected new parenting to have its hurdles, but it’s one thing to know about the lack of sleep and another to be in the trenches with it. yawning, she moves in closer to aaron, arm slipping around him, his heartbeat under her ear.

“if we’re sticking with just the one, i’d say anywhere from six months to the next twenty-five years, give or take.” she presses a kiss to his shoulder. “depends on how much she turns out like you, doesn’t it?”

There was a time when Malcolm wanted to settle down and marry--and if he’d had the chance, at most, he would have wanted a very small, intimate church wedding with close friends and family in attendance.  Now, after four decades as a demon’s meatsuit, he does not expect that he will ever have a serious romantic relationship again, much less have to worry about the size or logistics of a wedding.
