    This wasn't begging, this was blatant whining.    Complete with a pout on his face and big puppy    dog eyes. He bounced slightly in place, his lower    lip sticking out as he tried to look as pathetic as    possible -- if she wanted to compare him to a puppy    instead of a ferocious wolf, he could be a puppy.

This is sort of a headcanon, but I have this feeling that after starting to date Rose, Alex's grades improved drastically because she actually made him sit still and study and finish his assignments instead of focusing only on Potions.
