Send me a '★' and I will tell you how my character feels about yours. | Accepting!
@xxemnas sent: ★ We've yet to interact here YET... but gimmie anyway XD
Aaah yes, we do need to interact!! ;; buuut for the sake of answering the meme, we’ll just go with an in-general version of Xemnas (though obvs I’m sure your own depiction has plenty of nuances) !
So as we all know, Xig is always scoping out folks for their usefulness as pieces on the ever-expanding chessboard, and has most definitely noticed Xemnas is a piece of especial note. However, importance aside, Xigbar has found Xemnas to be… just a tad bland. And sure, the whole “Nobody” thing contributes to that (buuut then again, what we got in DDD sorta… changed that…), but the melancholy he exhibits is just… such a downer. And Xig’s already his own mental downer half the time, when he’s not keeping himself busy scheming.
But then again, he really considers the ‘Norts in general to be uninteresting, in the overall scheme of things. Their singlemindedness, while admittedly admirable to some extent, leaves no room for interesting qualities. Like?? What do they read? What do they like? What’s their fave color or food? Etcetera and so on.
Thus, ultimately, it really accumulates to Xig feeling kinda… sorry for Xemnas. He sees him as trapped in his own cycle of suffering, whether or not Xemnas and the other ‘Norts were actually capable of “winning” in the end.
( @xxemnas ) asked : Send ⛓ to capture my muse — Xemnas & Riku
He isn't sure exactly what happened, one minute he was fighting a battle, and the next he found himself kicked through a corridor of darkness and slamming into a pristine white wall on arrival. He hadn't even gotten a glimpse of his assailant before crumbling to the floor a few feet below where he'd slammed into the hard surface.
This place… Those white walls meant only one thing to him: The Castle That Never Was. How had he ended up here? Especially in a room that, now that he was gathering himself up and slowly standing, did not seem to be equipped with either door nor window, unlike the majority of the structure he was otherwise familiar with. He hadn't even known the castle had rooms like this in the first place.
He heard the telltale sound of a corridor closing behind him and twisted around, warily observing the man that had stepped through, ready to summon his keyblade and defend himself. Not that such a thing would be easy, he had no way out here.
"Xemnas…" Why had he captured Riku? For what purpose?
( @xxemnas ) asked : While acutely aware of the tension he brings with approaching the boy, he knows he won't have any need to lie should an answer be demanded from him for his presence. " You seem troubled... " There are no hidden intentions behind his observation, though he wouldn't blame Sora should he expect any regardless. — Xemnas & Sora
Sora near fell off his perch at the sudden words, having been so absorbed in thought that he hadn't even noticed the other approach, much to his embarrassment. He quickly scrambled to make sure he wouldn't fall off the raised wall and turned to face the man.
There had always bee a very complex string of emotions attached to Xemnas for him. Xehanort, Terra, Xemnas, Ansem… Sora had been very young when his journey began, mostly preoccupied with reuniting with his friends and nothing beyond that. Killing Heartless had been satisfying to his sense of right and wrong, underdeveloped as it had been from living on the Destiny Islands where pretty much nothing bad happened, ever.
He didn't really remember meeting Aqua as a child, knew Terra had been there as well though. The irony still wasn't lost on him that Riku and Kairi had been the ones chosen, not him. The rest of his feelings about that he kept carefully hidden away ever since he'd first found out. Joking about it had been much easier, and since everyone was used to him acting that way, it had been the easiest course to take.
It wasn't until after they'd defeated Ansem that things really got difficult. After all, he was pretty much back to square one, and they'd felled someone who looked human even despite the powers he'd used. But even then he hadn't known what it meant to kill anyone. It took much longer than that to settle in.
Much happened that he hadn't actually been awake for, but then came the Organization's active interference in his life and the lives of his friends, and things changed. He knew how to fight, but it wasn't just the Heartless anymore, now it was people. And he'd fooled himself for so long by telling himself that they were Nobodies, they didn't have Hearts so it didn't matter if he fought and killed them— They weren't human.
Ha, what a load of shit.
Yeah, Sora could curse while thinking, so what? Either way, it had taken him so long to realise the truth and be struck with the horror that he'd taken lives without ever meaning to. Out of all the people to take advantage, he hadn't expected Xemnas would be the one.
Oh, they'd both played their roles to perfection, and it still made his skin crawl to think about it. Everything up to this point had been pain and secrets and failure after shattering failure. But Xemnas had been there when he could, whenever he got a moment's rest from Donald and Goofy's persistent company.
Oh sure, initially the man had been interested in making Sora one of the thirteen vessels, but their relationship had changed over the years, and Sora had come to rely on the man for advice and perspective in a World he knew truly little about, fighting against plans that made no sense to him. Protect, protect, protect— That had been his motto, his justification for every hurt, every scar and every life taken. It's no surprise that after everything, he needs time away from the others.
They're all celebrating back on the Islands, but Sora needed time away from them. They were happy and they had a right to be, but Sora still resented everything this senseless war had taken from him. But there was nothing he resented as much as himself for falling for every goad, every deception and clever trick stringing him along on a path, a carved out destiny he'd never wanted. He should've let Riku have the keyblade when it had first been taken from him on the crumbling edges of Hollow Bastion, perhaps he'd have been better off that way.
He knows nothing could've gone any other way, not with how much he cared about his friends and fought to have them back, but that didn't change the things he'd done in the name of that goal. How different was he from Xehanort, really?
"X-Xemnas, you're okay!" Seeing the man almost violently tore him out of his self destructive musings, scrambling to his feet only to all but launch himself at the older man and hug him. Physical touch had never really been a thing between them but he can't help himself right then, the sheer relief drowning out everything else including his embarrassment.
Still, he steps back quickly after that, a sheepish grin on his face. "Sorry, I just— Uh, yeah… Sorry." Stars he's doing a wonderful job embarrassing himself, isn't he? Still, without their clandestine little meet-ups and talks putting things into perspective he probably never would have made it this fa in the first place. Guess Donald and Goofy were right about one thing: can't leave him alone for a minute without something going wrong.
"I'm so glad you're okay. I was worried I'd never see you again!" Sure the others had come back for the most part, the ones on their side at least (and Isa had vanished exactly the same way Luxord and Larxene had so there was some hope—), but Xemnas' entire existence was a bit of a special case, what with being the nobody of Terra being possessed by Xehanort and what not… Talk about headache inducing.
Anyway, there had been no guarantee he'd get the man he'd begun considering a mentor back, but he's beyond thrilled to see him anyway. He doesn't know what will happen next, but at the very least the future looks just a little bit brighter now.
" You are a being that does not belong here. " It's stated plainly, his voice as monotone as it always is, though if one were to listen more closely they might be able to detect a hint of contempt. Xemnas is clearly not happy that the other is here. " I presume it is only appropriate, then, that I warn you. Should you decide to meddle in our affairs, actions will need to be taken against you. "
Since seeking refuge here in the sleeping world, he's yet to find a way to restore his -- Neku and his friends to their respective universe. While his salvaged humans are safe in Traverse Town, Joshua extends his journey, navigating pathways and corridors, equipped with the knowledge he's been garnered through various encounters to know the difference between Heartless and Dusks and anything else that may sniff after him. Thus far, he'd only met a few members of the black coat cult brigade, but for the most part, they dismissed him as just another displaced traveler.
This guy, however, saw past the front.
" Does anyone belong here, really? " He tucked his hands into his pockets, one fidgeting over his phone as he sized up the tall suited figure. By the way he commanded attention, it would seem he held more authority than the others. Joshua remembered there being something of a hierarchy. One to thirteen?
" My, my, threatening me right out the gate. There must be a lot at stake... Not to worry, I don't think my goals conflict with that of the Organization's. " He smirked. “ What exactly does your Organization do? So I know how not to meddle. “

“ You’re here looking for something, aren’t you? So go on, spill it! What’d you come here after? ”
Was Zack being quick to lash out with assumptions? Probably, but there was just something about the cloaked stranger and the air he gave off that made Zack uneasy. Was he supposed to be an ally? A friend of another SOLDIER? Someone snooping around the company who needed a quick escort out? Either way, he’d put Shinra’s certified ‘puppy’ on guard and Zack wasn’t budging until he’d gotten an answer!
