In High School Musical, Sharpay and Ryan convince Ms. Darbus to schedule callbacks for the spring musical at the same time as the basketball championship and academic decathlon. their argument was that the people who showed up were the ones truly committed to the performing arts. the other characters, who had learned the consequences of punishing friends for not sticking to the status quo, worked hard so that basketball star Troy and nerd Gabriellla could attend callbacks.

You're being Sharpay right now. This is literally what the movie told us not to do." And it's fucking devastating. She killed him in broad daylight. He's never gonna recover from getting his ass handed to him in three sentences about Highschool fuckin Musical by an eleven year old playing hooky on her lunch break.

The Obikin Lost City AU ( massive spoilers for The Lost City)

Obi-Wan is a romance novelist who originally wanted to be an archaeologist and who writes extremely accurate adventure romance novels. For the last five years, he has been mourning the death of his archaeologist husband (could be Quinlan, could be another Jedi, maybe Satine, maybe Padme). He now has to go on tour for his new book, The Lost City of D.

Every book OWK has ever published has featured Anakin as the cover model. Obi-Wan thinks Anakin is not much more than a pair of abs and dislikes how much the focus on Anakin takes away from the books.

Anakin has been in love with Obi-Wan for years now.

Obi-Wan is kidnapped by henchmen (Maul, Ventress, Dooku) of Palpatine, who wants to collect the Crown of Fire, a priceless treasure. He is taken to an island that contains the Lost City of D so that he can translate the directions to the tomb of King Kalaman, which contains the Crown of Fire. Anakin and Obi-Wan's other team members (not sure who to cast as Beth, maybe Cody? And Ashoka as Allison) realize Obi-Wan has been kidnapped and devise a plan to bring him back.

Anakin calls up an ex-military warrior, Jango. They did NOT meet at a meditation retreat because this is Anakin. Instead they met at a pod racing event. Anakin is jealous of Jango being like the love interest from Obi-Wan's novels. Jango tracks Obi-Wan and stages a rescue (he dies for plot reasons) Anakin and Obi-Wab go through the rescue that occurs in the Lost City movie.

This includes the conversation about Alan getting out of Sarasota and being raised by a single mom, obviously translated to Anakin being raised by Shmi and then wanting to get out of Tattoine. Obi-Wan discovers Anakin's hidden depths, they go through the rest of the movie plot with the song and the dancing and the tunnel, etc. Obi-Wan accepts the death of his husband after realizing the priceless treasure was a crown of seashells Kalaman had made for his wife That, and the true treasure was their love. Palpatine leaves Obi-Wan and Anakin to die trapped in a tomb, but Ventress leaves them a crowbar by which means they can unseal the door and escape.

Anakin and Obi-Wan make it out of the temple. Obi-Wan writes a new book inspired by their adventures, and everyone loves happily ever after.

If this is set in the star wars universe, palpatine could want a Jedi or sith artifact, have them visit a temple of a force sect, and have the well of endless tears be a force well! Or it can be set in the universe of the movie.

reputation is my favorite Taylor Swift album for many reasons. One of them is the structure of the album itself. It is an exploration of a character finding romantic love and personal growth amidst conflict. The tracklist order, shift in theme, audience, and even tempo as you progress through the album all reinforce this. The in-your-face, confrontational love of the beginning of the album (…Ready For It, Don't Blame Me, End Game) shifts to a relationship desperately treasured and kept secret (Delicate, So It Goes…, Dancing with Our Hands Tied) to something settled, warm, and confident (Call It What You Want, New Year's Day). Between all that, the singer is confronting her enemies (Look What You Made Me Do) and making her own bad decisions (Getaway Car) as she earnestly and ferociously takes on the mantle of the snake, the bad guy (I Did Something Bad). It makes it all the more significant when she decides to stop engaging, to no longer play a role (This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things) so she can focus on the romance. *Not every song is mentioned here, but they all support the narrative*

No other Taylor Swift album has such a well-defined arc, one kept consistent through promotions, styling, poetry, and even the setlist on tour. It even set her up for a smooth transition into Lover (that album deserves its own essay). Even the lack of deluxe tracks serves to maintain the story. As much as I would like more songs, this story is complete. You take it or leave it. The character has made her statement and is not sticking around for your acceptance and rejection. There will be no explanation, there will just be reputation. (On that note, I worry the rerecording will muddle the album.) Few other Taylor Swift works manage such narrative. Long Story Short told the same story in a single song, as did Evermore. here are small song to song connections in Evermore and Folklore. But these are not album-length. Red is the only album that even attempts it, with its exploration of heartbreak forming a perfect line from declaration (State of Grace) through the album's waters to renewal (Begin Again). But Red is not a story like reputation is. It is more concept album than character study. reputation stands alone in the discography making it all the more precious for those who see its value.

The thing about switching away from tumblr mobile and only using it on my computer is that I can't keep up with my feed. There are so many posts and my browser frequently crashes or reloads before I can get to the last post. When I was on mobile, I would be on Tumblr a lot more so I could keep up with it.
