The deputy reportedly told police he was “angered” that someone had replaced Pushkin’s portrait with one of Putin.
Some 8 years ago we were making jokes about North Korea and how it's a federal crime there to so much as accidentally sit on a newspaper containing a photograph of Kil Il-sung/Kim Jong-il, but now - oh boy... Who's the joke on now?
The Russian United Democratic Party "Yabloko" WON the poll in Geneva, Switzerland. Vladimir Putin's "United Russia" came in 3rd.
It was interesting to read up on how Russians who do not live in Russia voted on the parliamentary elections.
" I was an observer from the Yabloko party on №5304 voting site. It was formed in the building of the Diplomatic Russian Mission to the UN in Geneva, Switzerland.
Turnout was unprecedented - 1225 people. Yabloko came 1st - 342 votes! Communist - 291 United Russia - 262 "
