“Bewitched” Reboot in the Works
ABC has given a reboot of Bewitched from Kenya Barris (Black-ish) and Yamara Taylor (Black-ish) a pilot production commitment, according to Deadline. Barris and Taylor are executive producing with Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox
The reboot, written by Barris and Taylor, will feature an interracial blended family. Samantha, a black single mother who is also a witch, marries Darren, a white mortal, and the two “struggle to navigate their differences as [Samantha] discovers that even when a black girl is literally magic, she’s still not as powerful as a decently tall white man with a full head of hair in America.”
