How to catch a couple of Homos

So I figured out I can’t push out 2000+ word one-shots every day, but I can put my head canons down into writing so here are Yamamoto and Tanaka. And how the start out as “no homo” friends to “yes homo” boyfriends. This’ll be on the Haikyuu Month AO3 I linked to yesterday for Tsukishima so if you want to read that there here’s the link

If you don’t want to open a new tab or anything then

·         When Yamamoto and Tanaka left after the first practice match they exchanged numbers and literally only texted each other with manga recommendations

·         They both apparently love Shōjo Manga but had never told each other until one day one Yamamoto send Tanaka a link to one on accident.

·         Yamamoto goes to play it off as a joke but Tanaka jumps on the manga and starts speaking about how he’s already read it and thinks it’s got a wonderful story plot

·         They both begin to share the secret kept manga they hadn’t sent to each other and they’re now constantly texting each other about it

·         It’s become so much of a distraction that our #1 ace and our wanna be ace get scolded by their captains

·         They don’t realize they have a thing for each other at this point but at the summer training camp they are practically joined at the hip

·         Yamamoto literally doesn’t stop talking about Tanaka when he’s not there but he’s always like “no homo” and “I like girls”

·         But throughout all of their conversations they’ve never even once brought up the topic of girls

·         Kuroo decided to consult Daichi and Sugawara about the shit that’s been going on and the three of them decided that Yamamoto and Tanaka need an intervention

·         Sugawara is the one that Daichi and Kuroo pulled in to talk to the two of them separately

·         Tanaka instantly realizes that Sugawara’s right and is adding “no homo” to everything he says when he’s talking to Yamamoto

·         Yamamoto on the other hand continues to deny it stating that he is 100% straight™ he’s even gotten to the point of not texting Tanaka as frequently

·         But as time goes on Yamamoto begins to see that he hates not holding conversations with Tanaka and he goes to Kuroo for help

·         Kuroo flat out tell Yamamoto that he’s got a thing for Tanaka and that basically blows Yamamoto’s mind

·         He’s literally just a shell for the next couple of days until it hits him that he actually likes Tanaka and he’s realizes that the next training camp they’ve got is coming up

·         At the training camp Yamamoto is a literal stuttering mess when talking to Tanaka and Tanaka (who’s had time to deal with the fact that he likes Yamamoto) isn’t any better

·         Yamamoto decides to grow a pair at the end of the camp and confesses to him like the first Shōjo manga he shared to Tanaka way back when

·         They get together and it’s a literal happily ever after

So I drew this here doodle and zan wrote up a cute as all fuck little fic just under this (BTW I have permission to post her writing here!) The light is bright, and comfortable here. It shines through the window, across the couches, and towards their toes.

It’s an easy morning, like usual. Their apartment is quiet, beside the T.V. humming low in the distance. They fit comfortably in the love seat, a plate of food resting at their side. Tanaka grins, practically glowing, as he sits in Yamamoto’s lap, legs thrown over his thigh. This is where he belongs, honestly, and he fits like it’s home.

He grins, a rice ball between his fingers,  “Say ahh.”

Yamamoto laughs, “Do I really have to?”

“Yep!” He grins, “Open up, beautiful.”

Yamamoto grins at the pet name, and opens his mouth.

They’ve been dating for a long time now, the two of them. They’ve excelled every expectation – they were a relationship destined to fail, for sure. They’re both hot headed and rough and loud, full of fire and fight.

But contrary to popular belief, they are quite gentle, in most cases. They’re soft, and sweet, full of fun pet names and tender verbal jabs. They’re soft sheets, and warm toes, and blanket forts and pizza late at night. It’s all laughter and silly cat videos, and netflix until the late hours, giggling until they can’t breathe.

They complement each other quite well, in all the ways you wouldn’t expect.

Yamamoto swallows, finally, and grins, “Ah.”

Tanaka laughs, and presses a kiss against the piercings in his ear, “Good?”

“Mhmm~.”

Tanaka grabs another one, and brings it to rest against the round swell of Yamamoto’s lower lip. He opens wide, and Tanaka plops the rice ball to rest against his tongue. He pulls back his fingers, watching them tug against his lower lip, wet with drool. Yamamoto chews, and then swallows, and Tanaka is sure to watch the way his throat bobs, oddly seductive.

That tongue licks back out, over and across Tanaka’s fingertips. Yamamoto is tempted to bite, so he does, choosing to lightly nibble on the flesh of Tanaka’s fingertips, before pulling away. Tanaka can’t hold back a grin, and neither can his lover.

Yamamoto’s eyes are round, and focused, drinking in the smooth lines of Tanaka’s chin, the dips of his nose, and the soft eyelashes on his cheeks. Tanaka is strong beneath his clothes, all solid muscle, but pliant in Yamamoto’s lap.

He grins, his hands pressing into the dip of Tanaka’s lower back, “You’re so pretty.”

“Hey!” Tanaka grins, “You stole my line, you goober.”

Tanaka  presses his mouth against his, just to see if he can taste the stickiness from the rice. It turns out that he can; it mixes well with Yamamoto’s natural taste – something that Tanaka can recognize blindfolded.

Yamamoto gives a happy little hum, his long fingers splaying against Tanaka’s lower back, soaking in warm skin. Tanaka returns the hum, and licks along the curve of Yamamoto’s tongue. They usually kiss like this;  slow, and careful, just for the fun of it all. Sometimes there’s those days - the days where they kiss hard, and rough, full of teeth and nails, across tables and hard surfaces - but today isn’t one of those days. Today is sleepy, and slow, and nice.

Tanaka pulls back from the kiss with a slick pop, and grins. His breath is a faintly labored as he says, “You’re right, these do taste pretty good.”

Yamamoto barks out a laugh. He brings his hands to thumb into the valley of Tanaka’s hip bones, dipping underneath his shirt once more, “You’re a fine chef, Ryuu. The finest, if I do say so myself.”

“Oh? And do you say so?”

“I most certainly say so.” “Good!” Tanaka grins, and grabs another rice ball, “Because I bought these from the grocery store.”
