Bringing Him Back

The sands of Las Noches were a comfort, the way the moon shined down upon the group as they traveled through the dusty winds, towards the large white tree that Yamichi had spoken about before. Orihime walked at her side, nervous of all things, watching as Yamichi approached the thorny tree, staring up into it quietly. 

“I know you’re in there, Ulquiorra. It’s time to stop sulking.” 

For a moment, there was no response, and Orihime worried that Yamichi was wrong, but Yamichi just sighed heavily, crossing her arms over her chest and cocking her hip to the side, tapping one foot against the sand. 

“You are sulking. Come on out, let’s have a real conversation.” 

It was then Orihime realized that Ulquiorra and Yamichi were communicating, somehow, that Ulquiorra was responding, but Orihime couldn’t hear him. 

“Aizen was a bastard who manipulated everyone. I don’t blame you for falling for it. Come on out, alright? I have someone here who wants to see you.” Yamichi turned, looking over her shoulder, the side with her mask piece, the piercing yellow of her gaze somehow a comfort to Orihime. “C’mere Inoue.” 

She stepped closer, confused, and Yamichi turned back to the tree. “That’s right. She’s here.” 

For a moment, Orihime looked between the tree and Yamichi, as if expecting something to happen, before Yamichi sighed, looking over at her. 

“Maybe you’ll have better luck convincing him to stop pouting.” 

She stepped back carefully, and motioned for Orihime to take her place. She hesitated for a moment, before Orihime stepped closer, staring into the pure blinding white of the tree. “... Ulquiorra?” 

No response, but she hadn’t expected one. 

“I... I’m glad you’re alright.” Orihime shuffled in her spot, kicking up sand and hoping it didn’t get into her sneakers too much. “I wanted to heal you then, but I... I knew you’d keep fighting Ichigo and he couldn’t do that, but... but now no one’s gonna fight you. No one’s upset, or, or gonna hurt you guys for this. Yamichi’s making sure of it.” 

Still silence for her, but Orihime didn’t take it as anything bad. 

“All you have to do is come out! And, you don’t have to right now, if that makes you feel better! Sometimes I get that, sometimes I just wanna hide up in my room with all the blankets over my head and my salmon mint ice cream, and pretend that nothing out there can hurt me. I get it, but... I would like to see you again. If you’d like that too.” 

She looked towards the tree again, trying to peer past the pure white branches for some glimpse of Ulquiorra’s green eyes or his black hair, but nothing yet. 

“So... if you want us to leave you alone, that’s okay, but... I’m not gonna stop visiting. Even if you never come out, I’m gonna keep coming back, and even if you never talk back, I’m gonna show up and I’m gonna tell you all things you missed, so that way you never have to leave if you don’t want to, but you still get to know!” 

Silence continued, and Orihime sighed. “But... right now all I have is things you know, like the war ending and... and Yamichi remembering everything, so... We can leave you alone for now, if you’d like, but... we won’t stop coming back. I won’t stop coming back. I’m not gonna give up on you.” 

Orihime smiled towards the tree, then turned to Yamichi, who was smiling at her, taking the hand the arrancar reached out towards her, and started away from the tree. However, she turned back once, raising her free hand to wave back at it. “I’ll see you again soon, okay?” 

She turned back towards the endless white sand, that Yamichi seemed to know the way through, before the creaking of wood caused the two of them to turn again. 

It was far less graceful than Orihime had come to expect from the Espada, but Ulquiorra climbed free from the white branches anyways, his horn catching on the branches, clothing tugging and ripping in spots on the thorns, but he was free, tumbling towards the white sand, before Orihime caught him, holding him up carefully. 

She made no comment on the wet tear tracks down his face, nor the redness in his eyes. Simply helped him stand again and took a step back. 

Yamichi came up behind her, and Ulquiorra turned his attention carefully from Orihime to Yamichi, and bowed his head carefully. “My Queen I-” 

“Save the apologies Ulqui. Let’s just get you reunited with everyone.” 

Yamichi turned, leading them back through the sands, and Orihime took his hand carefully in her own, causing the Espada to look back at her, eyes slightly wider. She said nothing, however, leading him after Yamichi in a comfortable silence. 

He never let go of her hand.

Hello there, I was hoping you could help me with something. A while ago I found a Taiyama amv with the song Colors by Halsey. I think I saw another op's amv on tumblr. before seeing the one I'm looking for. But I'm not even sure op is on tumblr,because otherwise I'd have reblogged it on my blog. And I can't find :(

Uh...I don’t know about a TaiYama AMV...but I do know that there is a Yamato/Mimi/Taichi (idk that ship name. Yamichi I think?) that is done to the song that you’re talking about...

This person does have a tumblr, @moonlessnight126 made it. 

Is this the video you’re talking about? I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about AMVs, so...I might be leading you down a wrong path here. This is the only one in recent memory I could think of...

If anyone else has a better idea of what AMV fits this criteria, feel free to say so :x
