Hello, Ozz!!

I'm taking a Japanese class in my first semester in college, and we have a choice assignment to do research on anything in Japan (in English, not Japanese lol) and your Yokai Harem was whispering to me and so now my assignment is going to be about Yokai and Japanese ancient folklore :)

I'm so happy to hear that, pookie! I wish you a lot of fun in your research. If you're looking for some inspiration, there's this website I really like that's essentially one big database of yokai.

On that note - and since it's already October by the time I'm answering this, I'd recommend you Yamishibai. It's a four minutes per episode anime done in the style of kamishibai, street theatre and storytelling, and it covers a lot of urban legends and myths. Not entirely yokai related, but still spooky and local-inspired if you want a little something to pass the time. :D

A redraw I started a while ago but never finished. When I saw this Yamishibai illustration, I knew what had to be done! I love how child link’s eyebrows design is kind reversed, I wasn’t used to draw them like that 😆. Yamishibai means theater of darkness and it comes from Kamishibai which is paper theather! I learned some fun stuff about Japanese art and theater history. I see the Salesman as a art/ magical artifact collector, some sort of time traveler exorcist/ healer but also a actor story teller in a way except he tells them through the masks he collects. I also learned about Noh mask theater and I started to think of parallels and influence it might have had in Majora’s Mask. Makes me love the characters and game even more!!
