Aakaza as our yandere??
— Yandere Akaza HCs
Warnings: Yandere behavior, GN! Human! Reader, stalking, canon-violence, obsessive tendencies, manipulation (minimal), and spoilers for his storyline.
A/N: This was supposed to come out two years ago because of my moot, @married-to-google-translater. Finally finished it 🫠!
Akaza loves you the same way he fights; with accuracy, dedication, and instinctual devotion. He doesn’t chase, but guards. Like you’re something sacred. The exact way he did in those broken memories, reminded him of someone. That someone who constantly interlaced into the view of you—a strange woman—who still haunts him. Just as you do. There’s so much watching. So much feeling. He makes you feel marked before he whizzes out of the shadows, revealing just how insane you make him. At peace.
Any love interests are challenged. He thrives on his jealousy. Envy. He despises that someone else has you. That he has to share you. That they can visit you all day, every evening, and every single night. A brewing, selfish part of him wants you to himself. When he sees them with you, his teeth grind. Fangs hiss when he notices the gifts. The hugs. Every time they buy you stuff, Akaza always ends up surpassing them somehow.
When you smile, he feels a glow of pride. Encouragement. Showing silently that he can take care of you better. But, if you are really into the relationship, he respects your decision. Even when it drives him insane—seeing your lover kiss your cheek—your happiness is number one. So, if they make you happy, then so is he.
That is until they choose to be abusive. Even an argument that made you cry has him on edge. Skirting to the part where they need to suffer. He quietly sits beside you, tracing your skin, while commenting that he can make it disappear. Your pain. The suffering. All of it if you just say the word.
Arguably, Akaza is overprotective. Extremely so. He isn’t possessive nor demands to be in your space, but is always silently there. An unwavering presence that stays. Stalking away as you do your own business. That unnerving feeling in your gut that soon relieves you as he ensures your safety. Being properly cared for. Promising to protect you even if it costs him everything.
It’s in every small quiet act, as an unspoken promise. One that makes you abundantly special; like how danger never seems to approach you. Everyone tells you to stay clear of nightfall, yet as you roam the dark roads, it’s uncomfortably clear. The wind doesn’t even whistle. Just the occasional crack of twigs.
Or the fact that anyone who bothers you, even a bump into the shoulder, disappears. Rumors spread of their aware bouts. Or if you were to trip and fall, Akaza is catching you before a blink registers—revealing himself to others—and just as fast as he appeared, the blood does too. It splatters everywhere. And it’s warm. Burns your skin. Just like his rare but devoted behavior. Even when he apologizes, wipes away the filth, more screams are heard throughout the night, but it’s cougar season, right?
As soon as Akaza realistically spends most of his off time with you, his respect is outnumbered. More than for himself. Sometimes accelerating the Demon King. Even if he’d never be able to admit it out loud, you own him in ways he can’t explain. In your presence, Akaza naturally adjusts his stance to formal, even if he’d finish a fight that second. Instinctively keeps his hands visible and relaxed. Like a subconscious gesture to show he has no hostile intent. That he craves your attention and touch. You make him spiral.
It’s no surprise that his sense of touch is extremely sensitive. Detects vibrations, your vibrations, way before they initiate any sounds. It’s how he finds you. Every time.
Even if you were not to inform him of your walk, plans of sneaking out, or being in the public district, he’s always discovering your whereabouts. Showing up in places that he shouldn’t—by chance looking up and seeing his shadow on the market’s rooftops—or swallowing when you feel the wind brush against your neck as you finish dinner. He appears silently but is always there for you. Right until you two can be alone.
Akaza reads your emotions ridiculously well. His eyes examine your face, irises gauging your state of mind. He knows if you’ve had a bad day because of your increased nose wrinkles. How closing your eyes mid-conversation means being in pain. Shifting your shoulders means you are cold. Or how tapping your feet four times, instead of three, means you need a moment of silence. It happens so smoothly, you don’t even double-think it till he knows you’re lying. Will watch you fidget, trying to avoid what is clearly in the air. Right until you think everything is okay, he’ll lean in and ask: "You gonna tell me what’s on your mind? Or am I gonna be forced to find out?" Usually, he already knows.
Akaza learns how to cook for you. If you refuse to turn into a demon, he tries to make you dinner. The few times, it’s bad. Pans bent and torn apart. Burnt meals. Handles yanking off and chopsticks snapping. Half of it isn’t even the worst.
Eventually, like everybody, he gets better. Seeks duties in books. Copies the districts’ prepping, flips, and cuts. He works on it till it comes out perfect.
Akaza’s affection is deeply touch-starved. There’s no doubt he gleams under your touch. Yet he’s terrified to touch you. His future and his hands, thick with blood, have been marked with violence. Something that shouldn’t and will not begin to touch you. Terrified that the cruelty will bleed into yours. So he refuses to initiate touch with you; consciously aware of the space between you two. Pulls back, avoids your eyes, your skin. Not until you reach for him. Each time you do it, Akaza folds. Exhales deeply, as his palm hugs your hands. Even if you’re taller. Bigger. His massive palms still engulf yours. And every time, it’s like you’ve caught him off guard, and to be fair, sometimes you do.
But as far as keeping you home, he doesn’t do it permanently. Same from kidnapping. You are safe from that, at least.
Akaza is smart enough to know that human beings are sociable creatures. Habits and behaviors are meant to be shared. See the sun, inhale the air, and continue life. So he tolerates it. Allows you to leave during the day, presuming his resting in the darkest corners of your home at times. Watching as you come in and out, while avoiding any unnecessary visits. He asks where you’re going, humming depending on the answer. But hissing on the ones he hates. Despises. Visits to see any slayers, especially for training.
If anything, Akaza feels insulted. As in like you’ve cheated on him. He is your trainer, not some other lousy being. Nobody should reach out and offer their hand as you walk over a river, he should be doing it. Should be carrying you instead. Ensuring your body isn’t touched by dirt. He punches trees at the very thought of it. And when he smells them on you? His teeth grind. Canines mincing as he engulfs you himself. He’s like a dog, rubbing his smell on you. Growing stronger if you persist.
Violence is expected of him. But when it comes to you he is softer. A tad more lenient in halting his ideas. Impulsive ones. But that doesn’t erase what he will and has done for you. His hands are so soft and clean despite what you may think. There’s never any evidence. None to show that he crushed your childhood bully’s skull. Of the detailed spurts of blood that leave you up at night. In a thinking game, you know it’s him. We all do. But what can you do, really?
He also holds a grudge like nobody else. Never forgive those who have hurt you. Even if you have, he refuses to move on. Keeps a memory of your pain, of what they did. How you described it. Relishing the very moment he can have a chance to settle the score. And once he does, you swear the next few nights, his pupils dilate when he’s staring at you.
Akaza hates crowds. It’s a threat awaiting you. You are weak. Nimble. He worries more about your safety than his weakness to the sun. But he ends up cold-shouldering it. Rolling his eyes when you begin to walk into that direction, grabbing your hand and silently asking is it really necessary? As in everything, yes it is and so he follows. But of course, as a Demon, he can’t blend in—but you can—so he follows on the rooftops. Jumping to each connected thatch, watching everybody’s intentions. How they respond to you. Look at you. Right until you are done shopping.
Even with your hands full of bags, Akaza grabs you before you register being carried back home.
