Despite it being the middle of the night, it was still bloody bright in the streets of Seoul. The streets were bustling and full of chatter. The noise was giving him a migraine, as if his head wasn’t already hurting from the crying he had been doing hours before.
He hated it. He hated the noise and the constant amount of people, spirits and demons inhabiting the place. He was use to freedom, fresh air and the constellations in the sky at this time of night. Instead he was left with restraint, smog and constant ringing in his sensitive ears. He missed the countryside. He missed his old home and the little farm his only family member worked at. He missed his grandmother. He wanted to see her. He wanted her to come back and they’d go back home to Busan together and have it just be them. He wanted it all back.
However it was something he was never going to get. Ever again.
Hours ago, she died in one of Seoul’s most pristine and fancy hospitals. She was getting old with age and her body wasn’t working like it use to. She had all kinds of treatments, but alas nothing worked. She succumbed to her sickness and left Inmp all alone in a world he hated, in a city he didn’t know with money that was useless to him.
He was so overwhelmed with nothing, but negative emotion that he didn’t even have it in him to feel fear as the cat ears under his hood twitched. He overheard something among the annoying chatter that caught his attention.
Hunters? Really? Now of all times?
Inmo lifted his head to glance around, noticing how crowds were slowly dissipating. Not much, but it was noticeable to his eye. He wasn’t scared, at least not at the moment. Instead he was just annoyed. The world couldn’t even let him be depressed in peace. His temper was getting the better of him. He knew the dangers. He’s heard stories from his grandmother of the things that hunters do to demons of his kind and others. They weren’t pretty, but he wasn’t about to let a couple special humans ruin his sad night out.

Being agile was an asset in this concrete jungle. Inmo was resting against a huge vent on the roof of taller building. He was covered in sweat, blood and his small body ached. He was use to playing around, but he wasn’t use to do or die situations.
His grandmother was right. These people were dangerous.
“Come on, Inmo.. Just a few more blocks until you’re home.” He panted out. His throat and lungs burning as he took in the cool, crisp air. Heaving, he picked himself up off the concrete.
His hood was now down so he could listen better. The cat ears on top of his head twitched as he listened for what he was tuning into. His pupils became slits as they searched the night for the people who ruined it even more than it already was. Seeing he was alone, Inmo jumped from one roof to the next in a graceful leap, easily landing on his two feet. He was so proud of his performance while he made his way home that his grey tail was leisurely swishing behind him from under the hem of his sweater.
It was always a heated debate on how evil or precious cats were, but it all depends on how you treat the feline (sometimes anyway). Sure, he was going home with wounds, but those hunters were probably going cry trying to take off their gear.
He was thin and weak looking, but the power he packed and the quickness of his attacks proved to be a good way to fight. If only they had been nice and left him alone when he asked, they wouldn’t be in the state they were in.
A demon cat is just cat that’s a demon so everyone knows that you don’t touch a cat when they’re mad, or you’re going to get bit.
