🎉 St. John’s Day (June 24)

I'm here to present to you a drawing about St. John's Day / Festa Junina, with the goal of showcasing one of Brazil's biggest celebrations.

A Christian celebration honoring St. John the Baptist, cousin of Jesus, known for baptizing people in the Jordan River. It’s part of the June Festivals, common in Brazil and Portugal.

🇧🇷 Festa Junina in Brazil

Celebrated throughout June, it honors three saints: St. Anthony (June 13), St. John (June 24), and St. Peter (June 29). Of European origin, it evolved into a rural-themed festival in Brazil, especially in the Northeast and Southeast.

🌽 Main Features

Food: corn dishes, pamonha, canjica, mulled wine.

Clothes: rustic outfits with straw hats.

Dance: quadrilha, simulating a rural wedding.

Decorations: colorful flags, bonfires, (balloons are banned for safety).

Games: fishing game, greasy pole, kissing booth.
