Honoured to have made the @glastonbury Emerging Talent longlist...

Howl, my next single, was premièred on The Line Of Best Fit last night!! Thank you so much for all the love and feedback. I've been in such a good mood today cause of everyone's cute messages and comments. It's on Spotify now if you'd like to give it a few spins and share it with anyone you think might like it! I feel like my best stuff still hasn't even been recorded to be honest and most of it probably hasn't even been written yet. I guess that's what Howl's about in a lot of ways... staying focused, taking your time and getting things right. Onwards and upwards me lovelies!
Carousel
I've been buckling down and getting stuff done recently so it shouldn't be too long til you get to hear the new single, Carousel. Part of me is still considering doing a full album afterwards but we'll see. I always considered (and still do consider) the Yannina EP to be a complete work within itself so it would be nice to follow it up with something just as complete, as opposed to a load of tracks thrown together to make an album/EP.
When I wrote and recorded Yannina, it was as much for me as anyone else and I like to think that's the way it'll always be. At least, that's the way it always should be. Yannina felt like the dissertation you write in your final year of Uni after years of learning, getting things wrong, and discovering new things/yourself. In some ways I feel like I've proven myself to myself (whatever that means).
There are so many ideas buzzing around my head at the minute, it kind of feels like all these weird fragments of music and thought are coming together to form something that defines me and satisfies me better than ever before. Maybe these are my golden years. I certainly don’t feel like I’m in my prime yet though which is actually a nice feeling-it must be sad to know your best work is behind you. I read a quote once that said something along the lines of ‘what a wonderful thought it is to know that some of the best days of our lives are still to come.’ It made me smile.
Life, as it is, continues to surprise and entertain me. Sometimes I feel like I’m just in a big, sophisticated cinema of some kind. I don’t take very much seriously because of that. Maybe I should.
I’ve been running loads recently too. I wanted to do 100 days in a row but had a rest day yesterday after two weeks on the trot cause my legs were begging me for mercy. Oh well. I think about loads when I do go out though. I've been thinking a lot about religion and drugs recently for some reason. Both seem to make living more bearable for the believer/user. I hope that’s not offensive, it was just a weird observation.
It’s nice to be warm but everyone should feel the cold once in a while. It changes something in your head. You know you’ve crossed over from being a child to an adult when you curse the snow.
I sometimes think about what my idea of a utopia is. Would men and women work in a utopia? Or would they still work but all love their job? The funny thing is, as soon as something becomes a job, it becomes less enjoyable.
What a life, eh?

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been featuring Jake Houlsby for his recently release EP Yannina. This week, he released a video for his track “Fuel For The Fire”, which is taken off of the EP. His soulful indie folk sound is what caught my attention and his earthy voice is what makes me stay. Check out his cool wardrobe and some awesome beard progression above.

A while back I had an idea for a music video after watching a video on YouTube (of a man who took a selfie every day for a year) so, from February to April, I did something similar. Here's the video for Fuel For The Fire, nothing too serious, just a bit of fun... hope you like it! Give it a like if you're feeling canny.
