masterlist | part 2
odd rustling is heard beyond the doors of the occult club. well, not exactly odd, it’s the occult club after all, so more on more noise than usual. the sound of candles clacking against one another, robes hastily being put on, and a certain pentagram carpet being laid out can be heard from the hallways of Akademi.
it’s just that few are there to hear it.
only clubs with nightly activities and student council members roam the halls at this hour.
“let us begin, it took a lot to gain approval from the headmaster to stay behind today” Shin said, face obscured by his black cloak that seemed to engulf his entire body.
“it was worth it though, this blood moon is quite rare” Daku added, picking at his fingers from excitement, “if we are successful we may actually meet them”
Shin nodded at his fellow club member before facing the candlelit pentagram they’ve surrounded, “everyone, join hands”. At his command, the five occult club members awkwardly held each others’ hands within the circle.
“we hope to see you soon, dear creator”.
—
you sigh heavily as you opened your bedroom door, the dark room suddenly flooding with light as you shoved your backpack off your shoulders and crashed into bed.
“I’m exhausted” you said out loud, muscles and head aching after a day of university, “no way they’re already assigning us so much work on the first week, I’m a freshman!”
your complains went unheard however and you could only groan and lay an arm over your eyes. boredom set in after only a few seconds though, so you brought out your phone,
you blinked a few times in confusion at the symbol above your phone, “oh my god, you have to be joking me” as the no wifi symbol lay at the top of your screen. defeated you tossed your phone at your pillows and continued melting into the mattress.
“no wifi so I can’t do my homework (not like I’ll do it right now anyways), I mean yansim is offline right? guess I’ll play that. I did install that male rivals mod the other day”
dragging your body to your computer, you went into your game folder and launched the modded yandere simulator as soon as your desktop came into view. hearing the familiar school bell, you pressed enter and opened a new save wondering if the mod will bring anything new.
but before you could look around properly you immediately felt off once you spawned into the game. while Osano, senpai, and Raibaru continued on with their morning routine, a few students that were supposed to walk to the school stopped to look at you instead. not Ayano, you. you took your hands off the keyboard and mouse as you watched students stare straight into your screen, as if they can see the player themselves.
“is this mod glitched? the hell is this…” you mumbled
and suddenly it all went black. reaching for the back of the monitor, you tried to feel if a chord was loose but you couldn’t stop thinking about whatever just happened to your game. you knew how glitchy base yansim was, but you haven’t heard of that happening before even in mods. usually it was just students getting stuck on walls or some other scripting issue, not staring into your soul!
as you fiddled around with your monitor, a sudden crushing pressure blanketed itself on top of your body, you felt yourself crash down on your desk unable to get up or even lift a finger, you couldn’t even breathe. eventually, you blacked out, unable to withstand the pressure anymore.
chimes…school chimes? your university didn’t have this sound.
groggily opening your eyes you were only met with ten more, what looked like a bunch of emo teenagers in weird cloaks surrounded you from all sides.
you screamed as you sat up and backed away, bumping into an altar and searing your elbow on the melting candle, you hissed in pain.
“please, calm down!” one of them spoke up, “we are not here to hurt you”, “then why am I here?!” you yelled, “who are you people? and where am I?!”
the group all eyed the boy who seemed to be their leader, a boy with dark slightly disheveled hair and purple eyes shrouded over by a weird darkness.
wait, he looks familiar. looking around the room you realized they all looked familiar, this entire room looked familiar.
“hey…don’t tell me this is the occult club, like you know from yandere simulator?”
you mentally slapped yourself from how stupid you just sounded.
“nevermind, that was dumb, you guys just—”
“no, you are correct”
your head whipped over to the boy again so fast you thought you broke your neck, brows furrowing as his words set in,
“we have grown self-aware to an extent that we are merely video game characters. not just us, the entirety of Akademi. so we have decided to attempt summoning you, our creator”
he sounded so crazy you almost laughed, but when you caught a glimpse out the window of the room and saw the familiar gold-gilded walls and cherry blossom trees, you knew in your heart he was far from lying.
“but…why? plus I didn’t even create you guys! I’m just a player!”
they all timidly looked at the floor, unable to meet your eyes searching for answers, “…we understand there may be other players, other versions of us out there, but we are exclusive to your system. we do not know if others are as self-aware as we are. therefore we summoned you”
“that still doesn’t answer why”
the air in the clubroom was tense, confusion and even anger radiated off of you like a scent and now it was their turn to be crushed by pressure.
“we were curious…!” Shin blurted out, “numerous times we attempted to summon demons, spirits, any sort of supernatural being only to be met with failure, so this time we decided to try something different…”
you were speechless, left standing there not knowing what to do or even how to react to his words.
“take me back”
“huh…?” Shin raised his head, voice barely even a whisper
“take me back to my world” you said sternly, “I can’t stay here”
the clubroom was silent, no one knew what to do next, the members all looked at you like deer in headlights while Shin attempted to stutter out a response.
“you guys may know what can happen to you in this world, but what about me? I’m a real person! if my power cuts out or someone turns off my computer I might die! no one is there to relaunch the game or open my computer”
you bit your lip to hold back tears. it was a rough couple of days but it’s not like you wanted to die already? especially like this!
“please, I won’t delete the game or mod or wherever in my computer you’re from I promise, just take me back”
the weakness in your voice struck the members like the numerous weapons they’ve died to, it was strange empathizing with the person who’s killed you so many times. but who could blame you? it’s not like you knew they were alive.
“admittedly, we do not know how to, we didn’t even know the chances of you actually being summoned” you felt your heart drop as Shin spoke, “h-however…! we promise to search to the ends of the Earth to bring you back”
it was hard to be reassured by a character’s words in this situation, everything has its limits, especially in a game.
“in the meantime we do have good news” you looked at Shin, tired but curious and maybe even a little hopeful, “we remain active even when the game is not launched or your computer is off, so there is little mortal risk for you assuming you are converted to a game character like us”
you looked down at your body for the first time since you arrived and realized that you did become a character. your fingers had the models’ sharp edges and even clipped slightly into each other when you pinched.
you just have to pray that your skirt doesn’t clip somewhere.
“alright, alright, I suppose I’ll put my trust in you even if you all got me in this mess in the first place” the occult club members’ faces all lit up for the first time in minutes at your words, relief spread across them all
“we promise not to disappoint you and to bring you home” Shin said, voice lighter now, “as for where you will stay for the night…the best place would be the headmaster’s office, it is the only place accessible with a couch…we apologize”
sighing, you decide to wave him off and start heading to the office, just wanting to catch up on rest. as your head turned to the door, only now did you notice that all…five student council members were there?!
“yo! you lot actually went and did it!” Shiromi yelled, “I caught it all on camera”
“my…I didn’t believe they’d actually summon our creator, how curious” Akane said in her usual sing-song tone.
“no way we actually saw that happen” Aoi murmured, her uncovered eye blown open in shock.
“preposterous…I need to inspect the room for whatever ridiculous effects they may have used” Kuroko sternly said, refusing to believe the situation.
you were already startled enough by the situation what more the student council themselves? but the worst offender of it all without even speaking was the silver-haired man standing right in the middle of the door.
Megamo Saikou himself.
oh right…this all happened when you opened that male rivals mod…
“you are our creator?” he asked, his voice was more powerful than you expected, carrying a tone of finality,
“y-yes…” you said timidly, hardly able to stand the student council leader’s intimidating gaze, “I um… did not expect to see you all…here…”
Megamo huffed as the other student council members eyed you curiously, holding back only because they were in his presence, “do not be so frightened, I and the other students are aware that you did not know we were all sentient. all…murders…are forgiven”
you sighed in relief but your body still refused to relax, you didn’t know if they were all saying the truth after all. they could jump you in your sleep if they wanted to.
“from my observations, you have been a longtime player so I suppose you do not need someone to help you to the headmaster’s office?” Megamo asked, “yes, yes, I can get there by myself” you mumbled giving him a polite smile.
quickly, you pushed past the members crowded at the door and walked briskly to the third floor, footsteps echoing as you made your way through the dark corridors, and hurriedly shutting the wooden door once you entered the office. it all came crashing down from there. you slid down the door with your head in your hands
you were in a completely different world.
you didn’t know what to do, no one knew what to do.
it didn’t matter whether or not you had dreams or other aspirations in your home world, the chance to realize them had been stolen by a bunch of curious teenagers.
you were mad, livid even, it didn’t matter if you loved yandere simulator they don’t get to just suck you out of your life like this!
it was hard not to let the tears fall, shit was stressful enough in real life now you have to deal with this. all the familiar-unfamiliar people around you and having to get used to living inside a game with restrictions and bugs for days.
whatever, you can’t just wallow in your pity forever. you got up and landed on the couch, the same way you did just moments ago in your room, and fell asleep almost instantly, tears left to dry on your cheeks.
—
a sigh can be heard in the third floor corridors as you quietly sobbed to yourself inside the headmaster’s office, Megamo pinching the bridge of his nose.
“what do you say we do, president?” Akane said, although her voice was still as light as ever it lacked the playfulness in her tone, “no one in this school is equipped for this kind of event, not even you I assume”, “you’d be correct on that” he responded dryly, “the least we can do is aid the occult club in research and make sure the creator is comfortable here”.
a beat of silence passed among the five who stood outside the office.
“you know…they do have a name…feels weird always referring to them as “the creator”” Shiromi said with air quotes, obviously uncomfortable with the tense atmosphere, “can’t make them comfortable if they’re always called some title they probably never had in their world”. the rest of the four looked among themselves and agreed, “alright, we shall ask for their name tomorrow morning”
“maybe we can ask the cooking club to make them some sweet treats too” Akane added with a giggle,
“they can’t be cooped up in the office all day, I’ll take them out to the sports club if they’re up for it” Aoi said, a small smile on her lips in all her guilt,
“I suppose I’ll see if they’re interested in the drama club’s performances too” Kuroko said as she adjusted her glasses.
the tiniest smile played on Megamo’s face, he remembered why he picked these girls as his student council in the first place. it almost hurt him to cut their planning short,
“before all of that, I need to discuss with the creator about certain things in Akademi and if they would be interested in participating as a student while they’re here so they wouldn’t feel left out”
Shiromi grinned in response, “good idea, pres!” she said gleefully with a thumbs up.
Megamo nodded and dismissed the four, he watched as they all walked away before peaking through the window once more to your now sleeping form, sobs long died down as the student council finished their business.
he swears on his reputation as Megamo Saikou and as the student council president, he’ll make everything right for you again.
