My Darling Irene

my Irene headcanons below cuz someone asked <3

all interpretations of characters are my own and it’s not historical or canonical accurate, will change based on the future canon updates

According to the voicelines she’s drugged and hypnotized by her husband and most of the time is just a very obedient trad wife. But they also mentioned she would argue with Easterman and wants to leave him after discovering he’s been drugging her. So in my headcanon her mental state is very unstable, she’s drifting in and out of the drugs effects, she’s not entirely lost and is constantly fighting against the manipulation of her husband.

But as the time settings is in the 1960s so the general environment is pretty misogynistic. She’s confused about the social role of a woman that she often questions wether this abusive marriage is expected to be normal or she’s going insane. (That’s when Avellanos comes in and change her entire worldview with lesbians sex)

As for the self harm wounds that’s solely because Easterman loves to have power over ppl so he makes her harm herself under drugs or hypnosis. (according to his conversation with Wernicke I assume he’s repulsed at hetero sex, probably because of his own gender dysphoria. So yes that misogynistic freak gets off to her pain is hardly a surprise) Irene usually doesn’t remember the process, so she mistaken those are because of her own alcoholism and depression. She hates herself and those wounds, would use bandages to hide them.

I headcanon she comes from a decent wealthy family, provided her with enough sense of self and knowledge but not enough to let her see beyond the social gender discipline. She met Easterman and his brother Stanley in high school, their relationship is kind of like the langermanns and Jessica situation in O2. Stanley secretly had a crush on her but unfortunately Irene only views him as a friend back then, too blinded by the feigned maturity of Hendrick and her family probably favors Hendrick over Stanley’s soft and pessimistic personality anyway. Both of the brothers are not mentally stable as they both grow up in an abusive household, unlike Hendrick who is good at hiding his fucked up mentality Stanley is very aware of his inability to provide her with a healthy relationship, but still he cares for Irene deeply. She later developed some feelings for Stanley after she’s stuck in the terrible marriage.

But then again we know too little about the brothers, the whole Easterman family is a giant mess. To elaborate on my headcanons on Easterman’s family will take another wall of text so I will skip that here, but I’m also very interested in that topic.

Anyway we know what happened to Stanley next(actually we don’t) Irene is absolutely devastated, would often see him in her dreams and drugs induced hallucinations. Sometimes Stanley appears to her in an unspeakable way(my explanation for the uniform kink, that police line is irrelevant to me idc), she’s terrified of her own infidelity but it’s a comfort to her nonetheless. She’d see him appearing as a corpse sometimes but he’d never been scary to her. Everything about Stanley is a comfort compared to her reality.

Her feelings regarding her husband is mixed. Deep down she hates his guts but the environment around her is making it impossible for her to leave, so her mind would probably develop a self protect mechanism that’s build around the fond memories with him before marriage, which leads to her thinking she still loves her husband. Also the drugs and hypnosis aren’t helping.

In conclusion she’s not a blank trad wife character to me, and I don’t think that’s what red barrels wanted her to be either.

▪︎ On the other hand, today was the day when it was possible for me to finish this before valentine's, because I have to take care of in-school activities. I was either gonna publish it now- or NEVER.

▪︎Back then, I remember that I listened to some of GBA's audios that caught my eye, but after a point, I was disconnected from most of the storylines because I could not spare time for anything anymore. (Of course, my schedule hasn't changed yet nyahaha, it's still as busy as before, but somehow being able to squeeze it in has healed me mentally.)

Finally read tsukasas emo little phoenix event

We all know that Tsukasa starved himself for 3 days straight in an attempt to understand Rio. We all understand thats already terrible for your health.

What I haven’t seen people talk about was how he was keeping up with phoenix stages workout routine while doing it. They do 3 hours of intense workout AS A WARM UP. They run 10 kilometers, (just over 6 miles) AND do 300 squats every practice. NOT TO MENTION THOSE WERE THE ONLY TWO WORKOUTS I REMEMBER THEM SHOWING US.

The game makes it clear this is a significant jump from Wonderful x Showtimes own warm ups. They make a show of how Nene is about to drop dead while doing this stuff. Tsukasa holds up okay when they’re introduced to us and he’s well fed, but the first thing we’re shown after he decides to go without food is how he’s struggling physically while running with Phoenix stage.

This poor boy is not only going days without food, but also doing extensive physical activity almost daily.

How have I not seen a soul talk about this?? Yall love making sure we know how miserable he is, so how do you not bring this up while talking about it?? I cant even go to my yoga class if i haven’t eaten breakfast because i’ll drop dead

hello, i have a story for everyone.

i know it’s a lot of words, but give it a chance, maybe it will inspire you.

so to preface this story, i want to tell you about a cassette tape i found while exploring yesterday. i found a lot (i’m not really going to get into the details about my exploration) of tapes, but this one really stuck out to me. it’s clear with red glitter all over it, and it says “play me” in sharpie on one side. i thought it was cool, so i took it since i have a walkman.

so now to the other part of my story…i was having a hard time focusing and just…existing today, and i had a long history assignment due tonight that i really didn’t want to do, so i kept procrastinating it until 7:00 tonight. around 7:30, i decided to start doing it, and i just kind of stared at the screen, making a little progress every 30 minutes. this continued until about 8:30 (i think—maybe it was 9:00), when i started to get fed up, especially because i kept getting distracted by tumblr and the fact that i had no one to talk to. that’s when i remembered the tape and the doll i got at goodwill last weekend that i wanted to fix up. i decided that i was going to take a break from my assignment, power off my phone, put the tape in my walkman, and start washing the doll’s hair. as soon as the tape started playing, it felt like magic. it was the perfect soundtrack for my night, and i absolutely loved the music that was on it. at first i considered finding out what the songs and artists were, but i realized that i don’t need to know and knowing would ruin having the physical tape for me. i had the most fun i’ve had in a while washing that doll hair, not being aware of the time or how much had passed, just jamming out and combing through the conditioner soaked hair. once my project was done, i went back to my assignment with a clear head, finishing it in ~30 minutes.

basically, my point of this story is that we as a society are too attached to our phones. when’s the last time that you powered off your phone, took it out of your pocket, and went into a different room without it for a while? i promise it makes a difference. my point of this story is to encourage having some time to yourself without keeping track of time and who is pinging your phone for a bit (if you want music find some other way to listen to music).

it’s always good to remember to get off of your phone and experience the world for a bit, because i know i forget all the time.

I played it like a week and a half after release (procrastinated it) and then stopped after my like 4th attempt at the tenna battle and went to bed. I havent picked it up again since because I genuinely didnt expect any mention or reference of spamton outside of whatever might happen with the dealmakers and i was. so. so so so. sorely mistaken. Remember when i said i procrastinated it? Yeah thats because my fixation on this DISGUSTING FILTHY TERRIBLE FAG is THAT BAD that i get physically and mentally drained at the mention of him in the new chapters and i leave with a headache 💞💞 its really fucking awesome and great. its so cool. he makes me ill, except literally. except that phrase is literal. So thats why i am currently as of typing watching my bestie play it from the beginning again because i cant.
