Since I moved to the farm on New Years day it seemed like a perfect opportunity to start a temperature blanket 😌 rather than throwing something together from my stash I’ve been taking my time looking over all the pretty yarns out there and I think I’ve found the perfect match! This is @cascadeyarns 220 Superwash, purchased from @yarncanada It’s 100% wool, comes in some CRAZY gorgeous colours and it feels so soft and light (it’s a number 3 weight yarn) and luxurious that I’m betting it’s going to make an awesome blanket. Rather than my corner to corner like I did 5 (holy how was that already 5?!) years ago, I’m going to do the traditional single crochet one row every day taking the average of the daily high and low temperature. I’ve chosen to do a temperature range of -30c to +25.5c with 14 colours and 4 bonus coloured threads which will be incorporated into the day that bears the weather warning associated with it (heat, rainfall, snowfall and cold warnings). Even though I have plans for a couple trips away from the homestead this year, I’m going to let this blanket represent the temperatures at the farm, not where I am so I’ll be using the same weather app all year for consistency. And because I love spreadsheets… I’m using one 🤣 #crochet #temperatureblanket #yarncanada #spreadsheet #crafty #homesteadlife #homesteading #cabinlife #offgrid #offgridliving #temperature #subarctic #hardinesszone0 #craft #dawsoncity #dawsoncityyukon #yukon #yukonterritory (at Dawson, Yukon Territory) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnsHcsgvQGG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
