3D printed spinning wheel!
Today we have a true DIY project. A 3D printed charkha! Its a spinning wheel that was used in India for spinning cotton.
This style is originally intended to put into a folding box for easy carrying and storage.
The main drive wheel and bases are 3D printed as well as the bobbin supports.
The main drive band is a rubbarized anti slip hair band, and the other drive band is just a piece of thick perle cotton.
The pins to hold the wheels on the supports is a US 2 knitting needle that I trimmed down and sanded, with some beads on the top to avoid catching any rough spots.
The bobbins are also US 2 knitting needles.
The bobbin support I changed from those skinny rubber bands to a hair elastic.I have some cotton spinning to do now on my very functional spinning wheel!For those who want the pattern on Thingverse to print yourself if you have access to a 3D printer, please follow the link below:

The person who printed this for me used PETG, for durability, but PLA can also be used.
