1. The artists bench I got from my FIL from cleaning the basement. 2. All the roving I've spun so far stuck on my wagon wheel spindle because I have yet to get a niddy noddy. 3. The rest of the Corriedale roving I have left. 4. The Corriedale I've spun. The roving I've already spun feels different than the Corriedale. Almost coarser and isn't "hairy" when I predrafted. Hopefully these fibers will mesh ok so Incan make one big skein. I thought about plying, but I don't think I can ply this much yarn on a spindle. Also when I join the ends of the Corriedale it doesn't seem to want to stick to itself when I spin it. Finished these two wee little skeins this week. 24 grams of 2-ply laceweight 50/50 yak/silk, spun on a 15g Turkish-style drop spindle. Got about another 5-6 grams on the spindle. This stuff is freaking GORGEOUS! I like the Turkish spindle well enough but it's not my favorite, I prefer a top-weighted spindle. Spinning this fine does take absolutely forever though! 😆 I purchased 3.9 ounces of this fiber, which works out to about 110 grams.
