That moment when...
you realize that, with all the money you've spent on yarn and yarnbending stuffs, you could have made the trip to (and from) your hometown AND gotten your next planned tattoo...
but yarn is life, so you're not even mad.

This mug (and possibly the yarn) will be going home with me today! @needlepoints_west had some fun at TNNA! #knitting #tnna #coffeemug #yarrrn (at Needlepoints West)
Temperature blanket update for February 15th: still going strong as it transitions from the wide scarf stage to the wide-but-short lap blanket stage. I had hoped that February would bring some variety in the colors, but I had hoped for wintery colors, not for us to get up to 82 freaking degrees (27.7°ish C) on the 7th. Doesn't the weather know it's supposed to be winter? All of the daffodils and forsythia are already starting to bloom here. Cameos of my amaryllis that is just starting to bloom, and my forever-growing cactus and poor little bamboo.
Temperature blanket update: January complete! \o/ The project has moved past the scarf-like stage and may grow up to be a blanket yet! So far it is showing springlike warmth rather than the colder temperatures and colors I had expected of winter, but February often is our coldest month. Here's hoping for a little variety...
Update on my temperature blanket! Three weeks in and it is still going strong. I'm really liking how it is coming together. If I could change anything about it I would probably adjusted the temperature ranges for the colder colors so I would more reliably have more blues than greens in winter, but it is too late to change it now. Maybe we'll have some colder temps in February (hopefully). At the moment we're going through a warm few days accompanied by the threat of severe storms. I would just as well like the spring weather to stick with spring rather than invade January, thanks. Cameos by my amaryllis bulb, which is sprouting, and the various orchids and other assorted greenery which inhabit a good bit of my kitchen table.
Sleeeeep
I am in this typical holiday mood of feeling sleepy all the time even though i sleep so much!
Having spun my first two bobbins of singles on my wheel, I figured I should try my hand at plying. It turned out pretty well! Though of course I felt every little unevenness in the finished two-ply yarn. I like how it turned out enough that I may dye it once I get it off the bobbin.
Ridiculously proud of how my second skein turned out. It looks and feels really good! ^____^
