Makima and Denji: Grooming, grooming, grooming. Makima is the first person to show Denji any sort of affection or basic kindness, and he falls head over heels for her. She uses his attraction to her to make him do things for her, makes promises she won’t keep, and ultimately, doesn’t give a damn about him; all she wants is his literal heart. He also ends up EATING HER in order to defeat her, as he didn’t view this as an attack on her, but rather him expressing his love for her.

Satoru and Yashiro: Let’s get the obvious out of the way, Yashiro was Satoru’s fifth grade teacher. The age gap isn’t even the worst part. Yashiro is also a serial killer targeting the children of the town Satoru grew up in, getting thrills from framing people for his crimes. In the first timeline, these deaths and the guilt from being unable to do anything about them cause extreme trauma on Satoru. When he goes back in time after Yashiro kills his mom, Satoru is able to successfully foil all three of the murders in the past, but Yashiro catches on and tries to kill him, but instead, Satoru is placed into a coma for fifteen years. The anime and manga have very different endings, but either way, Yashiro waited those fifteen years to try to kill Satoru.
