General Opinion: HONESTLY this kind of started as a joke between me and @superlauri but I didn’t know it would actually become a well-received ship!
It was definitely more about Yasuo being super hot first off, but then when the Odyssey bios and short story came out and we learned that Yone died to Kayn’s hands while protecting Sona, I was completely sold. We get the carry over of Yasuo being framed for his brother’s death as a result, and I can’t help but think that Sona found the Morning Star crew not only because Yone had spoken well of his brother when he was alive, but to set things right. This not only includes stopping Kayn, but also proving Yasuo’s innocence because she was witness to Yone’s death and knows the truth.
Confronting Yasuo about this wound undoubtedly bring them closer as shipmates, and I can see the captain as the type of person who would want to protect all members of his precious, dysfunctional crew, Sona included. That’s why I accept and am fine with this ship as a BroTP, but I can also see them potentially developing a romantic relationship down the line as well.
