“I kinda feel surprised when I saw the noragami tag being quite full of...”
yes ! okay I thought it was only me
Everyone's take on the chapter are pretty interesting as well, but it wasn't the first thing that I thought when I read the RAW. For me, Yato's expression in the last pages, along with the scene where we also saw chibi!Yato when he tried to give the card to Hiyori, IMO leans more on how different the old and the current Yato would handle this situation. Just like how Daikoku said it - the old Yato, the god of calamity, would have handled the situation differently, but the current Yato, who strives to be a god of fortune, finally understands the purpose of being a god is for the good of humans; and that humans are a lot stronger than they think.
Plus when Yukine said that Yato would die if Father is killed, doesn't imply that Yato would immediately vanish if Father was killed. It's true that aside of Hiyori; the only other human who knows about Yato is Father (technically, he IS a human). Hiyori would die eventually, but Father would continue to reincarnates; hence he would, in the long run, be Yatos' only thread of lifeline. Of course, this will not happen in the case of, Yato somehow being able to gain more steady believers in the future.
