So. During Seras confession, we are greeted with this lovely scene right here. But what does it truly mean in terms of the show? Let's delve deeper into it.
We see Lute standing and holding not one but two swords. Behind her is nothing but red, the colour of passion, desire, and blood. Then, the scene slowly fades into a lighter colour until Sera appears. Now it's white, the colour of purity.
To me, I personally feel as if this may be foreshadowing to a Lute redemption arc futher in the series. Seeing as in Sera's confession, the whole song was basically about her dealing with her guilt and accepting redemption. So by having Lute fade into Sera, it feels.. like foreshadowing to me.
Of course, we see Lute many times in the song since she is the face of the exterminations. She is literally the personification of Seras gulit. But this part right here doesn't just feel like Lute is thrown in there for Sera to reflect on her own actions..it feels a bit more purposeful than that.
Seeing as Sir pentious and Sera sang "Live to live" together which was basically a reprise of "It starts with sorry" I theory that we may get another reprise in the upcoming seasons, this time with Sera and Lute.
So in conclusion, this scene alone has sent me spiraling and believing that Sera will guide our favorite broken exorcist onto a journey of ✨️ redemption ✨️
It is 10 am, and I've been up all night so..this post may not make any sense
