It was a lot of fun to do, but this is my first time writing headcanons and they kind of came out more like summarized imagines & are kinda long… I hope you enjoy them anyway, though! First Date Headcanons for Kiyotaka, Mondo, Fuyuhiko & Gundham
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
Boy oh boy is this sweet boi nervous.
Of course, you’re the one who brings up having a date first–after at least two weeks of him just walking you home after school.
He finally agrees to a date with you after making you pinky promise to get home before curfew at 8, even though you’ve protested multiple times that you’re both high schoolers and that it shouldn’t matter that much. But knowing him, you give in so the two of you can actually hang out.
He definitely is the kind of do all kinds of research before the date. He wants to make this the best first date for you possible!
And yes, he’ll probably take a notebook around the school the entire week before the date so he can note your preferences and what you like to eat or do–or at least, as much information he can glean about you in a school setting.
He arrives way too early. Like at least half an hour early, maybe an hour early, just so he can make sure he’s not late because that would be absolutely reprehensible of him.
He’s sure to bring you to a classic date spot to entertain you before bringing you to a cafe, and it’ll probably happen to be educational too, like the zoo, aquarium or a museum.
If you were hoping he’d bring you to a themed cafe, there’s a pretty low chance of that unless you give him the puppy dog eyes, tug at his sleeve and beg. He’s extremely susceptible to your whims, especially when it doesn’t directly interfere with his morals and only his personal preferences.
He’ll check in with you after each place or thing you do to make sure you’re not too tired and to see if you’re actually enjoying the date! He wouldn’t want to drag you around when you’re not feeling well; after all, this date is for both of you!
There’s no mistake; he will walk you home like a gentleman. More so to ensure his peace of mind than to spend more time with you, because he knows if he doesn’t watch the very moment you walk in the doors of your house, he’s going to worry all weekend long until you meet him at school again.
He’s not going to kiss you on the lips right after your first date–he’s way too shy for that, not to mention that he can’t imagine making a move on you this early: it would be awful if you thought he only wanted to date you so he could touch you and such.
But if you look at him with those eyes of yours, he’ll probably blush a deep red and begrudgingly give you a kiss on the forehead gently before sending you off into the security and comfort of your home.
After you step inside, your phone is going to buzz with a bazillion texts from him asking if you’re okay and if you need anything. To which you’ll reassure him fully that yes, nothing is wrong, and no, there aren’t any psychotic serial killers around you, in addition to reminding him to get home safely.
Your first date with Kiyotaka will overall be fun, although you might have to remind him to stop worrying so much and just enjoy the date!
Mondo Oowada
This boy literally schedules a first date with you right after you two become official. He’s just so excited that it’s mutual and wants to spend as much time as possible with you!
Yes, he picks you up for the date on his motorbike. If you’re not a fan of that or get nausea, you’ll probably just have to get used to it because that’s just the way he travels–not to say that he won’t be willing to bend backward for you so you can be comfortable & happy!
He goes all out for the first date and won’t tell you where he’s bringing you at first, either, because he wants it to be a surprise.
He’ll ride up higher and higher in the mountains, the wind whipping through your hair until you arrive at a forest and walk into a clearing with birds singing, a small pond with gentle ripples running across its surface and greenery all around.
He lifts up the bike seat to reveal a picnic basket for you two to share! Sounds really romantic for a motorcycle gang leader, but what can he say? Mondo’s a romantic at heart, even if his buff appearance doesn’t show it.
Don’t particularly enjoy the outdoors? He can definitely adjust; after you eat together, he’ll bring you to see a movie. The genre? Obviously action. Otherwise, the two of you will stay up in that idyllic setting, chatting and eating until evening, when the stars twinkle down merrily at you two, lying down.
Oh, he’s going in for that kiss. There’s no way he’d waste such a good opportunity. He’ll get your attention by calling your name, and then lean in for a tender kiss on the lips as his fingers run through your hair.
He’ll deliver you home by motorbike, of course, getting in a second kiss on the cheek before you walk inside, silently watching you enter and then ride off into the night.
You’ll receive a text from him about how he can’t wait to have another date with you, complete with a silly smiling emoticon. :^)
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
When you broach the subject, he’s kind of surprised until he remembers that you like him back, so it’s natural to want to have a date.
He’ll agree, but not with too much enthusiasm–he doesn’t want to look too eager, even though now that you’ve mentioned it, it’s all he can think about.
He does tell you to leave all the planning to him, though. When you ask worriedly if he was okay with that, he just says that although it’s troublesome, he doesn’t want to risk letting you plan it and screw things up, which you interpret (correctly) as just another sign of his love.
Since he’s planning it, he feels more pressure to make the first date as ideal as possible, so he does search up good date locations and such online, letting his pride go for a bit.
He’s pretty pissed at all the crappy advice and is tempted to throw his computer at the wall, but instead swears at it and resolves to figure it out on his own.
The day of the date, he comes by to pick you up in a sleek black limousine and brings you to a small cafe a little ways out from the city where there’s not a great influx of customers so the two of you can chat and sip your desired drinks of coffee, tea, juice or pop without being bothered by people you know or noise.
He drinks black coffee, and when you ask why he doesn’t put any sugar in it, he says something super cheesy. Like, “You’re all the sugar I need in my life right now,” or something around those lines. You’re inclined to tease him, but you’re blushing too hard yourself to say anything back.
Even so, you know he’s probably craving something sweet and is too stubborn to order it himself, so you order a plate of karinto and some cakes. He tells you he won’t help you eat it, but you protest you’ve ordered too much and need help consuming it.
Fuyuhiko helps you eat your sweets while cursing about how troublesome you are, but you note a tint of pink on his ears.
After you’re done eating, he’ll bring you to one of those old movie screening places, where you can rent a room for a small number of people and play any movie you like.
You select a mafia movie with Japanese yazuka and then a spy movie, and while he scoffs at them and comments about how inaccurate they are, he chomps on the buttered popcorn pretty happily.
He’ll take you by surprise with a kiss in the limo on the way back to your house, just on the cheek for now. He knows that he’ll have plenty of time to fall in love with you even more, and figures he’ll take it slow for now.
You might get a stern-sounding text from him the next day about how you should plan the next date since you hardly lifted a finger this time, to which you would consent happily. Now, where should the two of you go next time?
Gundham Tanaka
You’ve hung out with Gundham plenty of times, and even a couple times after you two made it official, but it was always to take care of the animals at his house, and while you loved them dearly (as you did the chuunibyou owner), you did want to do something with just the two of you for once.
He pulls his purple scarf up when you mention it, which could be a good sign or a bad sign. But when you see him sweating slightly and blushing, you realize he might just be nervous, and tell him you can plan everything.
He, of course, rejects this, saying something about how his ruler only deserves the best and that he’d be the one to offer it to you.
Gundham does end up planning it all, and you have absolutely no idea what’s going on in his mind the entire week leading up to the date.
He’ll take you by subway or public transportation to the zoo like a normal couple, although his appearance is clearly far from normal and draws looks from the pedestrians–or, as he might call them, plebeians.
When at the zoo, Gundham will be like a personal tour guide, and he stands out so much in addition to sounding so knowledgeable that even strangers will start following both of you around.
They do wander off, but there are still crowds of people around, so he’ll hold your hand to make sure you’re not getting separated from him.
Afterward, he’ll bring you to a family restaurant where the two of you can get a bite to eat. He might make some comments about how the food is surprisingly delicious despite the homely appearance of the restaurant, at which point you’ll be wiping sauce off his cheek with a napkin, standing up and leaning in to give him a soft kiss.
He’s frozen in shock. Does not move for a solid five seconds, and then you see his face reddening considerably.
He’ll definitely pull his scarf up in pure embarrassment and giddiness, even if you encourage him to let you see his handsome face, to which he will only blush harder.
Once he’s calmed down and both of you are done eating, he’ll accompany you on the walk home, admiring the stars and enjoying the night breeze.
When you kiss him on the other cheek before turning to leave, he’ll catch your arm, pull you back and draw you into a heated kiss on the lips, even though he’s incredibly embarrassed.
He’s hesitant and anxious about touching you since physical contact has never really been his thing, but is pleased and tickled pink that you’d want to touch him.
You’ll hear from him an hour after you’re home, and he’ll mostly text a bunch of unintelligible emoticons or stickers to which you’ll decipher to be expressing joy and love.
