First trail ride of spring! It was so so gorgeous out, just perfect riding weather. I ran into a friend and got her and her baby ootb to go with us/lead since Luna pony likes to follow. We just walked the short loop, well Luna had to trot to keep up periodically.

It went really well! Luna gets a little antsy when she starts to fall behind but was otherwise perfect. My friend ootb wanted to run back to the barn once we made it back to the high line canal (last straight section) and she had to sit like five hopping circles. Both me and Luna just stared at them like 😧 she sat it so well and I once again felt pleased as bunch with my decision to buy a chill pony (which was nice because I had been lamenting her lack of easy scope but you you know girlfriend does not do circle hopping or other shenanigans and I like to not die. My friend had to sit another wild buck where her horse kicked out and straight back at a deer that moved unexpectedly.

We did some quick trot and canter work in the arena (with some collecting and lengthening)

And then Luna walked over the bridge by herself! I then had to hop off and walk her past the house and through the deer, but got back on in the cross country field and stayed on for the walk home. We also had to stare down a deer on the path on the way home which luckily just slowly walked off the trail once we got close. Good girl Luna being more intimidating than a deer 😂

She got lots of cookies and I am so pleased with our first outing of the year and that it’s finally nice enough to go out again!

sunday to-do:

- sit outside!

- finish embroidery project while listening to podcasts (only have four little mushroom friends to go!)

- write (aiming to finish a rewrite of a chapter, and then maybe poke at this one other fic that I think might be almost nearing ‘finished draft’ status)

Brought out the spider plant now that we're not having a flood every week. This was its favorite spot last year, so we went back to it this year.

The cats got to a few of the vines, but the little ones will be good to go in their own pots. Hopefully here soon it'll perk back up with fresh air and more sun and we'll get more little white flowers. 🌸

Today was such a beautiful day. I decided to plant my basil and cilantro on my porch. I think I might still bring them in at night, but It’s finally the growing season :D 

I also put my other plants outside so maybe they get more sunlight >.> the poor pineapples don’t get the sun that they should...
