just wanted to say that i love jack so so so much. it's so rare to see girl characters that are actually, unabashedly cool and confident in the way male characters like sonic are. usually it's framed as a character flaw or joke (think like rainbow dash and how her desire to be "cool" usually leads to her acting selfish) OR it's done in a #girlboss way where it's centered on being digestible and "feminine" to avoid pissing off shareholders. jack is just cool and capable and knows it.

and then shipping her with sonic?? having the cool guy character be attracted to a girl because she's cool?? having her be the slightly more assertive one in the relationship?? having her be showy and brash and then framing that as attractive without making it into a weird fem fatale girlboss thing?? giving them the classic shounen rivalry with chemistry that usually only happens between two guys?? massive W for girls who always pictured themselves saving their guy crushes instead of the other way around everywhere.
