GoGo Morrow Live

Yesterday was a huge day for Philly native GoGo Morrow. Last night was her first headlining show at the TLA. Before GoGo’s performance, singers Tye James and Aaron Camper took the stage.

Tye James along with his band opened up the show with his fusion of soul, rock and pop. Performing songs from songs from his NaiveEP, James warmed the crowd up with his Robin Thicke-esque vocals.

Following Tye James was Aaron Camper. Backup singer for Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake, Camper kept the vibe going with several of his songs such as “Madness” and “Moment of Silence”.

She goes by the name GoGo Morrow. You don’t know who she is? It’s about to get familiar with her. GoGo is a Philadelphia artist with an amazingly beautiful voice. I heard about her a while ago and viewed many of her videos on YouTube but I haven’t had the chance to see her live… until last night. And I was blown away. I honestly got chills while I listened to her sing. With her GoGettes by her side, GoGo came on the stage and owned it as soon as she stepped on.

Starting her career as a backup singer for Lady Gaga, GoGo decided it was time for to step into her own spotlight. Not only does she have flawless vocals but she has impeccable dance skills.

GoGo performed her songs (which by the way I need on iTunes or something ASAP) Private Dancer, Hello, Let it Blow, Take This Love and HD. During her time on stage, GoGo gave credit to all of her years of watching The Box (who remember The Box!?!) and her mom keeping her in the house. She also took time to shed light on an inspiration of hers, Janet Jackson, with a tribute. There was also a beautiful Father-Daughter duet during “Stop & Go”

Seeing GoGo perform proves she has star power and there is no doubt that she will go far. HD has a line in which GoGo sings “Mama look at me I’m a superstar.” My response to that: Yes. You. Are.
