11th October 2014
The view from our balcony.
Yes.
I live here.
And quite frankly I kinda love it.
5th October 2014
Just chilling with my "spanish soup".
Summer makes me lazy.
I'm going to Germany next week.
And I'm gonna be leaving for my year abroad in Japan in a month.
I need to sort my life out.
... tomorrow.
ごめんなさい!このポストは遅れっています!
Sorry this post Is so late! I actually received these ages ago!
I got my visa from the Japanese embassy in London a few weeks ago when the Olympics was still on! It was a pretty simple process, if not for me and my friend running around London looking for a legit post office so we could get a special evolope so that our Visa's could be tracked in the post when sent back!
The letter of electability came in the post a few weeks back too, along with a letter of acceptance and some other things that I might put up at a later date!
Please excuse the picture's they are REALLY UNFLATTERING.
So anyway, 3 WEEKS TODAY! wow, time has kind of flown and slowed down all at once. Some of my friends and fellow students are already their, or on their way because different Universities have different entry times, so sadly us Kitakyushu kids ( the coolest by far obv.) have to wait another few weeks until we can embark on our journey too!
The problem is, at the moment everything is kind of anticlimactic and I'm starting to get really scared and nervous as opposed to the exited ball of excitement I've been all summer. It occurred to me the other day "Hey, I actually have to speak Japanese to Japanese people" and since I'm pretty shy and not very confident, this was like..a hard realization, so it looks like all I can do is study from now on - and make these awesome posts to waste time ofc!-
Also it's pretty cool to mention that we get an いんかん (Seal/stamp) provided by the university and so for weeks now I've been debating between なおみ (Hiragana) and ナオミ (Katakana) and even though I think Hiragana is MUCH prettier and looks more Japanese, I am so used to writing my name in Katakana, I suddenly couldn't abandon it! ^__^ ;;
P.s My best friend Erica who is going to Japan tomorrow so I wish her all the best! We'll have to meet up soon girl!
Okay well I'm rambling now, So I'll update soon with more stuff regarding my Japan trip! See yaa'll soon!
ナオミ
So upon telling my family that I have booked my flights to Japan, my Mamgu ( grandmother) claims she will cry, my other nan gets emotional too and my mother gets excited..I hope she's not excited to get rid of me?
My Mamgu is really too emotional bless her, I know she does'nt like me talking about Japan because she's going to miss me, and as excited as I am to go, Im going to miss her too, Im going to miss everyone in fact, but, I have long ago realised that this is a part of growing up, and even If I cant experience this with them, I can experience it with my best friend Sam, and lets not forget Charly! and Nana and Chii, who are girls already from that Area...yes, the more I think about it the more exited I guess.
My Student finance was finally sorted this morning and I found out I can get reimbursed for TWO RETURN flights, which is seriously god damn cool, so looks like I could make my friends wedding after all :) I LOVE being welsh, Oh the advantages haha! I wonder if the England one does this as well? I hope so for my friends sake!
Well I cant think of what else I want to put on here, I keep wanting to write things about my preparation because I'm so exited, BUT! nothing is happening yet, So I'll update again when Kitakyushu University sends me the welcome pack :)
