I follow some Australian youtubers, so I decided to buy some VegeMite. Publix only had Marmite, the British equivalent, so that'll have to do.

"By Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen." This jar is OLD. Expires this October, but everyone says this stuff lasts forever because it's like 90% salt, basically sterile.

I never waste Marmite ever.  I pour boiling water in the near empty jar, swirl it around, let it cool slightly and then drink it.  Warm, yeasty, salty, goodness. I guess those flat spots are really there for easy packing on the conveyor belt, but this is a neat little trick and it works !

I placed the nearly empty marmite jar on it’s side . . . see the flat circle?  And voila ! next morning the last scrapings were sooo easy to knife out and spread onto hot buttered toast!
