One of my favorite headcanons about Player, is that they're an absolute monster when it comes to teambuilding and just having some insane ability to utilize any Doodle and make it work.
And due to that it's one of the reasons why Player is constantly quiet because they're constantly thinking about what their team needs or what doodles to use and switch out.
TJ and Quincy are especially weary when it comes to Player because of that uncanny unpredictability/flexibility they have.
And what makes it especially bad for opponents is that another hc I have for Player is that they LOVE doodle battling. Before they went on the Key Hunt, they were very interested in battling.
It's one of the reasons why their mom mentioned they could get a free doodle from the Laboratory in town because she knows how much they love battling, and why they're so down to just beat up anyone when challenged.
Player ADORES battling, always keeps a type chart with them in case they forget but most of the time they don't need it.
The Blue Strings just so happened to choose the one kid who's hyperfixation is the one thing it specializes in helping get stronger. So, it really is like a match made in heaven.
[This all mainly stems from my personal experiences because some of my closest companions who've played Doodle World with me are absolutely TERRIFYIED of battling me because:] 1) I have the display name 'Player' so whenever they say my name, they call me 'Player' like Player Doodle World 2) Is because I'm far more knowledgeable in battles than the average doodle world person, especially when it comes to battling. [They just believe it's game over when facing me, sort of like how people treat Player in universe lol]
