Yellow tang - Zebrasoma flavescens

THE fish. Known worldwide, even if you dont know it's name, it comes to mind.

They are chill, mostly herbivore and yellow fish.

They are native to hawaii but they have been seen in the in the Pacific Ocean, the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan.

They can live alone or in groups, sometimes forming big schools.

The juveniles are venomous but they lose their vemos glands when they mature.

THE FISH, I have a sticker of it in my bedroom ^^

Nightly Elevator

It shows a jellyfish ascending to the surface, where it will feed in darkness, safe from daytime predators. Before dawn it will sink back down to safety. This one, however, has a hitchhiker: the little yellow fish has hopped aboard for a free ride up. Piggybacking like this also offers the fish a measure of protection, since passing predators tend to avoid the jellyfish’s stingers.

Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish are territorial. They patrol their patches of coral with a monogamous partner. However, instances of overt aggression among them, have been observed between territory holders and individuals of the same sex. Chasing is rare, but when it does occur, males chase males and females chase females. Females defend food resources from other females, while males defend territories containing a female from other males.
