Transitional period years love to go out with a bang and this one did just that with a Mercury Retrograde to boot. Oh the joys of puling all of the weeds and old vegetation to make room for a healthy new generation of growth. I will admit that even more than the thinnest days of the veil in October and November; I have felt the other side and it's pull on this stage we play out life upon. As the hand of the gardener pruned and cleared I felt my own reason and purpose being contemplated. The majority of us do not think often about how our own demise may eventually or immediately shall surely come, but when transition comes to reap, even youth and middle agers feel the magnetism towards the tiller. Transitional years can challenge you and lay down the a need for new landscapes. What was once cute decorative rockways and easy no maintenance perennial laced beauty; becomes the place you need to dig out and put down crucial river rockways in to change the watercourse from damaging the foundation of your house. Transitional years tend to give you more of a work load and worry than you can normally handle. Stretching out your comfortable dimensions and self perceived limitations to maximum potential. Like a massive weed plagued yard with the worst natural soil and conditions. You have your work cut out for you if you ever want to enjoy the visual beauty of flowers and the fruits of nature. We know those years when the work is done and we can just sit and enjoy. Transitional years are never that. No matter how amazing your year was, this was not the year for coasting. Transitional years teach us lessons, over work us, over worry us, leave us breathless, or even broken hearted. For me 2016 was all of that and more but I am thankful for each year I have ever lived no matter how easy or hard. The luxury of life can be taken at any time or place.
