litterally misty trying to apply pressure to Allie's open fracture VS misty preforming CPR on crystals shattered body, only causing more blood to pour out of her mouth. it's about not understanding what people want from you. it's about only knowing things in theory but not in practice.

it’s so impactful when Van says “I guess people reassess their choice when they know they’re going to die” because she’s also reflecting on her own near death experience & how it shaped her own choices. there’s also something to be said that she says that to Tai when what she chose back then was love… like after almost dying Van is more determined than ever to do everything in her power to stay with Tai & keep her safe & tell her she loves her.

I really wonder if Van wasn’t acknowledging that decision on a subconscious level decades later. like in that moment I think Van was also admitting her own regrets that they didn’t stay together, you can hear it in her voice. the reason she’s so quick to shut Tai down when she admits her own regrets is really because Van is trying to protect herself from her own feelings…

I think for Van there’s a safety in pretending Tai has moved on, and that she was entirely happy with her life before the sleepwalking started. that she’s better off without Van. Tai admitting her own regrets shattered Van’s carefully constructed illusion.
