A different kind of summer
As summers at the lake go, this one was even shorter than normal for us. We cashed in the front end for our Yellowstone/Red Rocks trip. It was well worth the sacrifice.
Suddenly we're at the other end. In a few days, we'll be off to Scotland and Northern Ireland (we toured the Republic a few years ago). Requiring a little time to pack, get organized, mow the lawn, etc. , we're leaving Huron today By the time we get back up here, it will be fall.
So, on Tuesday we folded our umbrella, deflated the watermelon floaty and dragged the other toys beyond the clutches of Huron's autumn friskiness. It's unlikely that we'll get back in the water, but we didn't have the heart to put them away entirely.
See you in September.
