Yemir: "Oi, what's a dragon like you doing in a dingy human building like this? Ain't ya supposed to be livin' in the mountains or somethin'? Ya look like you'd put up a good fight! Most dragons I fought do, at least. I may only have one arm, but that's more than enough to knock yer socks off! Wait, do dragons even wear socks?"
"For fuck's sake, you gotta be as big as this damn building yourself, lady!!"
"Hmph..."
"Anyway, you ain't wrong. Normally my kind are native to Alola's Melemele Canyon, but hey, we obviously ain't on Melemele Island anymore, now are we? Did ya see any other mountains on this island? No? That's cause there ain't any. Just this volcano and this dingy old shit hole of a building, and Arceus knows how that got in here."
"I'm not going out to... that ocean, so as far as I'm concerned, it's either this building or that jungle out there where all the other wild Pokemon live. And even though I'm the most dangerous game on the island, I ain't takin' my chances. There's nothing up there that bothers me 'cept for the odd Salandit or Salazzle, it's probably the closest thing to the mountains on this island, and I get to keep Joshua's stuff safe. Win-win in my book, if you ask me."
The dragon sizes up the gigantic Gallade in front of him, completely unfazed by the size difference between the two. "You are something, though. Don't think I've ever seen a Pokemon, let alone a Gallade, as massive as you are." Kass smirks. "But hey, fighting everythin' else on this island is boring as hell anyway, and that's with me lacking in the eyeball department, so I relish the challenge. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, right? Hahahahah!!"
Harry let out a yelp as the miniscule Gallade struck his knee. The nerve!
“Oi!” he called out, “The hell’s that for? Can’tcha take some jokin’ around?” he held his knee in his hand.
All the while, Cesare eyed Yemir, appearing to be deep in thought. It felt like he just got back.
Still ... Yemir was a friend. In a way, she had helped them escape with her outburst. And she seemed pretty desperate. In fact, Cesare felt that if he turned her down, he would likely go down the same path as Harry. Or worse. Maybe she’d bite him or something.
Furthermore, training could help to be a safeguard against Eudai, should he ever rear his head around Cesare again. Cesare still felt ashamed at how effortlessly Eudai was able to flick him away. This had to end.
And so, the Gothitelle continued to stare at Yemir for just a moment longer before speaking.
“I’ll come with you. I don’t have much else to do. So where is this place? Do you know anything about it, or are you as in the dark as I am?”
“Oh? This is the sort of kiss you desire? I must admit, it’s unusual... foolish, especially, BUT, if you insist, Yemir.~”

(( This isn’t a character for this blog but rather from my huge roster of unused Pokemon FCs :’D also Yemir can never have a normal face when I draw her when it comes to memes >u> ))
"WHOO HOO, ALRIGHT! YOU JUST SAW THAT SMACKDOWN, LADIES AND GENTS! THE WINNERS OF THIS MATCH ARE THE ONE AND ONLY KNIGHT-AND-MAGE TWIN TEAM, ALYYYYYX AND ORIEEEEEEEEELLLLLL~!!"
Uproarious cheers and applause echoed powerfully through the stadium upon bearing witness to the siblings' victory. Alyx put on a smirk and waved off the audience while wiping off a few beads of sweat, while Oriel raised a flattered and somewhat sheepish smile as she raised her hand to the crowd in gratitude. Once they had their fill of the spotlight and praise, the two of them made their way out of the ring and towards the exit back into the main lobby ring.
"Whew... great job out there sis, you never let me down," thanked the Gallade as he lightly shoulder-hugged his Gardevoir sister.
"Ah, n-neither do you, brother..." smiled Oriel, pushing a lock of hair out of her face before clearing her throat. "W-well, I suppose we should rendezvous with Lixue and Masou, they'll be expecting us out here soon while the next battle is underway... I'm feeling sort of famished, admittedly..."
"Heh, I know what ya mean, I never saw those Pokemon before. They really kept us on our toes... no pun intended," chuckled Alyx with a roll of his eyes. "C'mon, let's go meet up with them and see if we can get a bite to eat."
Little do they know that they were followed outside upon completing the match, and it wasn't a fan or admirer of any kind... rather, with the heavy scraping clawed footsteps, and the metallic rattling of armor resounding firmly with each step... t'was the Black Knight himself, Zarathos. The Champion called out to the two psychic fighters.
Both esper battlers froze in place before inchingly rotating around until their eyes locked on Zarathos. Instantly, the two of them gasped a bit, before looking at one another nervously.
"... The champ..." muttered Alyx,
"... wishes to converse with us...?" Oriel asked as anxiety ran through her nerves. The fraternal twins both took a deep breath before facing Zarathos, clearing their heads.
"E-er, very well... what is it you wish to talk about, Sir Zarathos...?"
"Formalities are unnecessary," Zarathos stated bluntly before clasping his claws together. "... Your most recent bout was sufficient... however, that is not the matter I wish to bring to light with the two of you."
That alone had Alyx and Oriel quirking their brows. Did they just receive a... roundabout compliment from the champion? He did not seem to be the type to hand them out, at leas tnot to just anyone. Did the two of them really capture this massive black Bisharp's eye that much? Regardless, after eying one another, they turned their attention to Zarathos once more, curious on what he has to say, albeit both still on edge.
"Okay, so... what is it?" asked Alyx in a quietly tense manner in his voice.
While the two of them glanced at one another, Zarathos took this upclose opportunity to examine them. Their features, their colors, noting their names... clues were clicking into one another in his head, but so were doubts. He had to needle out information from them somehow.
He finally started off by asking the following.
"Tell me, knight and mage... who are your parental units?"
Alyx and Oriel just put on conflicted looks before facing each other yet again, eyes squinting from the awkwardness of the topic.
"We uh... don't exactly know, man," admitted the pale Gallade as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"That is true, we don't... all we've gathered as far as our origins go is that we originated from the small continent that was home to Ghalidor and Selucia... but we've only been living across the sea from it with an adoptive family for nearly twenty years before coming here on our own..." Oriel pondered aloud nervously, tapping her chin as she relayed the information.
"Twenty years..." Zarathos echoed aloud as well as mentally. Now things were piecing together for sure, slowly but surely.
<<Twenty years ago... was when word of wind that the Selucian hero's children went missing, allegedly dead, when the war extended to both kingdom territories... Ralts children, that belonged to her...>>
Another visual memory bubbled in Zarathos's mind... a memory of seeing said hero during a visit to Selucia in his earlier mercenary years. She had two children with her, and given what he's standing in front of now... it was truly becoming uncanny.
"Hmph, so you do not know then," he concluded lowly before holding out a hand in a beckoning, bargaining sort of fashion.
And that was when Alyx's mind launched synapses, his mind and memory going crazy. Time stood still after hearing that familiar name... but where did he hear it from?
"... Yemir..."
"Brother...?" Oriel asked, gently nudging Alyx in an attempt to knock him from his sudden stupor. With the white Gallade coming to, his eyes returned to their normal state, stepping forward towards Zarathos.
"... I've heard of her, actually..." he admitted, "... but not on my own. That one giant hungry Gallade, Yemir... she spoke of her, said she worked for her at one point, I think."
"Hrm, so the gigant ghoul has worked under Selucia as well, alongside their hero..." pondered Zarathos as he stroked his chin, not over Yemir's involvement, but from seeing Alyx's reaction. He was the one that beared the closer resemblance to this 'Xandras,' and seeing him look so adamant, that look in his eyes as if wanting to know more, seemed to help seal the deal.
"Yeah, apparently, she even said we shared looks in a way," Alyx continued before looking frustrated. "So yeah, I've heard that name. What're you getting at here? Are you suggesting something?"
Zarathos merely turned over and began to walk away, not even answering Alyx. This caused the albino blade to step forward again, calling out to the ebony edge.
"Hey! I was asking you something! Why aren't you answering me?"
And with those names, and leaving the siblings lingering in silence, Zarathos made his exit via a dark teleport. Needless to say, Alyx and Oriel looked yearning, especially the Gallade.
"Who does he think he is, asking us questions like these and just vanishing off like that," huffed the Gallade while folding his arms, bitterness crossing his pupils. "He's holding out on us or something, I know it..."
"Zarathos chose those questions in particular... and proposed them to us... but why?" Oriel tapped her chin. "He had a fire in his eyes... as if a lust for something greater... almost as if he was reminiscing...”
“Yeah, I know what ya mean...”
“Moreover, he called us... Alyxander and Orelia... I could understand the former, but the latter? I’ve never heard that form of my name... if it is so... Why did he call us that? What is he up to...?"
"I dunno, but... ugh, he's gone for now, so it looks like I can't bug him right now," sighed the white one before addressing his sister.
"Eh, he'll always be around the league, plus he said he'll answer other questions later. Right now, let's both go and get some--"
Aaand that was when Alyx's words were cut short from the sound of a tender yet excited feminine voice called out to them.
"O-oh? Who could that be...?"
"Nnngh, I guess our little interview time's not done yet..."
(( Special flashback guest appearance by Yemir of @gregnas-the-grouch ))
Perseus’s pace quickened when he heard that roar, moving to stand beside Madeleine while she stood up. << C’mon, we have to go. >> He urged her on. << We’ll just run... if we can even do that here. >>
The Malebranche was really starting to show fatigue with his sunken features, and it was becoming more and more difficult to keep a strong hold on Elizabeth. How he wished he could take a break. But rest would come later. Not now.
Madeleine glanced around for the best escape route, after overhearing the conversation between Whisper and Eudai. Now was the time to take action and get out. << Harry, do you have Cesare? >> She asked while looking back to check on the other two, her brows knit with concern.
Letting out a strained grunt due to the weight of the other Gothitelle on his shoulders, Harry wearily trudged over to the others, giving them a thumbs up. <<Got him.>>
Cesare was still clearly out cold, and his limbs dangled from where Harry did not have him completely secured. <<So what' the scoop?>> Harry asked, nearly falling over, but regaining his footing so that both he and Cesare would stay propped up. <<Do you two think we can manage a teleport if we put our energy together?>>
He glanced over to Eudai and Whisper, his teeth gritted. <<Better think fast.>>
<< Maybe. We can certainly try. >> Focusing her psychic energy, Madeleine placed her hands on her friends’ shoulders, prepared to teleport somewhere further away.
However... she felt nothing. There was no power, even for her alone. She tried it again.
Still nothing.
<< It’s not working. >> Madeleine tensed, biting her lower lip. << Something must be blocking it. >> Perseus hissed through his teeth at this news. << Better start running, then. We don’t have much time. >>
"... Did you- who am I kidding, of course you did." Eudai murmured as he stared at Whisper. The Dusknoir let out a raspy cackle, her voice so horrendous, it caused physical pain, even to the likes of Eudai. The Mismanoir was about to inquire further, when suddenly he was cut off by the sound of loud stomping. Without another word, Eudai suddenly shrunk into his smaller form, catching Whisper by surprise. "Oh, you cheeky cunt-GACK!"
The Dusknoir suddenly found her head being gripped by something strong. And on fire, did she forget about the fire? Whisper shrieked as he felt her body being raised, wriggling in place as she came eye to eye with a much larger and enraged Yemir. True, Yemir has always been known for her absurdly larger and massive height. But now? Even the tallest tree seem to only come up to her midthigh. Her body seem to convulse and twitch, flames erupting out of every wound in her flesh like blood. The Gallade's eyes were wide, wild and her teeth bared, sharper than ever.
Whisper wriggled, chuckling nervously as she tried to reason with Yemir. "Yemir, beloved sister of mine!... How are you?" All the ghoul got in response was a loud snarl before being slammed into the ground, knocking the wind out of her. All the while, Eudai started to shift slowly towards the trees. Cautious of how volatile Yemir was at the moment.

"Oi, Cactus Butt. Have you seen Cheese Man? I need to speak to him." The miniature Gallade quipped, now shorter than Harry with an unamused look on her face. "Also, were you guys back at the forest? Granny Bao caught me up on what happened during my little... Temper Tantrum." Yemir scratched the back of her head awkwardly. "Hope I didn't accidentally try to squish any of you guys or crush you... Or eat you for that matter."
“It looks like the giantess is now a dwarf!” Harry cackled, basking in the fact that he was now significantly taller than Yemir. “So how’s the weather down there, anyway? S’been a while since I was that miniscule.”
But, Yemir had a question. “Hmmmm … he should be back at his place now. Who knows what he’s doing. Though, if you ask me –”
“Yemir?”
Cesare had appeared, then, having heard the familiar voices.
“Oh, look! Speak of the devil and he shall appear!” Harry was clearly just enjoying himself today. Cesare waved him off. Then he went to get a closer look at Yemir.
She was even shorter than he was.
“Well,” he began. “It’s … new. But don’t worry! It’s not bad! You can still be … imposing, I’m sure.
But that’s not the point. I overheard you, and yeah, we were at the forest. Fighting off that … wonderful brother of yours.” Harry wheezed at his last remark. “Gee, Cesare, was that sarcasm? I couldn’t tell.”
“Harry, please … as you can see though, we got out okay. But just barely. The other three are fine too – Liz, Perseus, and Madeleine, I mean. If I’m honest, your rampage is actually part of what helped us escape, so, thanks for that.”
“Your brother tried to eat me though!” Harry butt in.
“Oh yeah,” Cesare gestured towards Harry. “That apparently happened. But … it’s fine now, I guess. What about you? I’m sure things have changed a whole lot on your side.”
“Ghost? Oh, ya mean my lil’ bro behind me?” The Gallade asked with a cheeky grin. “Nah, Eudai ain’t much for fighting. He’s more of the building and science kind of guy. Plus he always said these events were… were… What did you say they were?” Yemir questioned Eudai. The Mismagius seemed tired, yet mustered the energy to respond.
“Pretentious. At least from my point of view.” Eudai stated softly with an expression of gloom on his face. “Ah, right, that. Well, I suppose I can hog enough glory for the both of us, heh.” Yemir chuckled in a confident tone. Though she had been paying attention to the two fighter’s conversation the whole time. At Alyx’s remark that she should register to fight them, Yemir pulled out a sheet of paper before shoving it into Alyx’s face. “Read it and weep, lads. A two vs one match, starring yours truly! I never keep a good fight waiting! In fact, our match should be starting any minute now!” Yemir proclaimed with genuine excitement in her eyes as she dashed towards the arena, leaving Eudai to keep them company. Turning to face the fighters, the Mismagius coughed awkwardly into his tassel.
“I do apologize for my sister’s behavior. She can get carried away at times, too often I might add.” Eudai stated in an apologetic tone, though he seemed to perk up a bit as he could hear Yemir calling for him in a distance. “Seems I must return to her. I just hope she doesn’t cause too much damage like last time…” Eudai muttered quietly as he floated off to meet his sister.
Alyx winced at the paper being shoved into his face, eyes shut and making an uncomfortable frown before backing up and getting a better look at the paper. It was admittedly hard to believe, to him anyway. This got approved? He didn’t know whether to be amazed that this was allowed or to feel somewhat bad, being none the wiser. Regardless, he watched as the puny ghastly Gallade make her way towards the stadium, letting out a sigh.
“Well... they showed me, I guess,” the carefree blader exhaled defeatedly.
“We’ll see how it goesss...” Masou hissed, before turning his attention over to Eudai. The reptile merely shook his head. “Don’t apologize, we see plenty of thissss here. It’s nothing new.”
Once Eudai made his way over, Masou looked up at his white compatriot, whose face still showed reluctance, in the pitying sense.
“Well... it’s more money, I guess, right?”
“With a match like thisss set up for us without warning, I have more concerns than just the cash, Alyx.”
“Good point.”
“ ... Regardless...” the shady Scrafty muttered, turning his attention towards the gateway to the stage. “... it’sss time to go. Get ready for anything.”
Masou wasted no time making his way out into the open battlefield, with Alyx tagging along just behind. They made their way to one edge of the large platform, lights shining on -- and following -- the formidable duo as the crowd cheered their familiar appearances. Across from them, the two could see Yemir, and shortly afterwards, in buzzed Rhoslyn, the pink Scizor, whipping out her mic to address the audience.
“ALRIGHT EVERYONE, ARE WE READY FOR A FRESH NEW CHALLENGE?!” yelled out the rose-colored mantis, as the viewers responded with roaring enthusiasm. Meanwhile Alyx and Masou glanced at one another at that one particular phrase.
“New challenge?” they resounded to one another.
“Hoo alright, in this side, we got two members of the rising Valorous Hearts team; the fair cavalier Alyx and the rogue-ish reptile Masou, up and roaring for a good fight!” Rhoslyn gave the crowd time to cheer them on, then turned everyone’s attention to the opposing side.
“And on THIS side, we have a newcomer; an up-and-comin’, ghastly-lookin’ gladiator, with a set of teeth that nightmares dream of, give it up for YEMIR~! YEP! A TWO ON ONE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, YOU’RE SEEING THIS RIGHT! What could we expect to see out of THIS?!”
“ ... Be on your guard, Alyx...” Masou whispered to the Gallade, who just gave him a reluctant face.
“I still say this is gonna be over way too quick. What ARE they expecting out of this?”
Alyx - “ ... look, li’l buddy, I appreciate a newcomer’s enthusiasm ‘n’ stuff, but taking us both on is just asking to be bodied. I mean, unless that ghost there behind you is your team partner, since even a one-on-one with you would be unfair.”
Masou - “... ssssssssomething’s not right...”
Alyx - “Don’t need to tell me twice; beginner brashness is the most common novice mistake.”
Masou - “Unlessss they have something planned... something they’re not telling usss... why else would they be so eager to get up in both our faces?”
Alyx - “Oh shut up, what surprise could a little package like this have to be such a threat? Get real, Masou. Anyway... if you’re TOTALLY serious about this, then... yeeeeah, sure; just get registered and we’ll be in line for a fight... IF they approve it.”
