Have you ever caught somebody staring at you? When I locked eyes with somebody in the audience tonight, I remembered that you were the first person who ever noticed me. It’s weird to say that I remembered since I have never forgotten. I guess I mean to say that I thought about you tonight, and I wonder—do you ever think about me? Do you still have those pictures you took of me? Do you ever look at them? I hope you do.
These days, I worry that if I ever see one of those pictures again, I won’t recognize myself. If we meet again, can you tell me that I haven’t aged a day? Can you tell me that I look and sound exactly as you remember? Can you tell me that your love for me hasn’t changed?
I know that I am asking too much of you. I shouldn’t expect you to tell me lies. I shouldn’t write to you after so much time has passed and hope that you have kept the promises we never made. Still, I hope.
Yours eternally,
Yesung

"Here's your order, sir." You said with a smile. "Thank you, my girlfriend will love this!" He replies, hugging the bouquet of flowers dearly. He left the store, leaving you to be the only person in the shop.
You loved flowers, which is why you decided to put up shop in the middle of Seoul. There weren't a lot of customers but there were enough to keep the shop and yourself alive.
You designed the shop yourself. You were really into minimalism. Big, vertical, rectangular glass windows allowed light into the flower shop. You had a few aerial flowers hanging at the top in clear, plastic pots. Flowers in their pots outlined the sides of the shop, inside and out. A white standing desk in the middle is where you stay to take and give orders. It certainly made you happy.
Aside from the flower shop, there was also another thing that made you happy. A special someone. His name was Kim Jonghoon, your boyfriend. He'd much prefer him being called Yesung.
You two met at the flower shop. He went in wearing a white graphic shirt and fit, denim pants. His face had been blushy from the heat outside of the shop. He went in asking for suggestions on what flower he should give to his mother for mother's day. You pointed at some of the aerial flowers on display at the top with your ballpoint pen but he couldn't choose any. You showed him the flowers on the floor but he still couldn't choose one. He looked around trying to find the perfect flower until his eyes landed on the one on the desk. It was a single white rose. The petals were perfectly arranged. It stood tall in its vase. Although it wasn't for sale, you led him to the garden and dug up a white rose just for him and his mother. You placed it in a clear plastic pot and gave it to him. When you gave it to him, both of your hands brushed against each other. He was first to react to this interaction, his blush grew bigger and spread across his face. You giggled, adoring him. You always say, "Come back again!",whenever a customer leaves but he was the first one to ever reply. He told you that he'll certainly return, but for you and not for the flowers.
Since then, the both of you grew feelings for each other. Adorable and romantic dates led up to this point in the present time.
You stood still on your white standing desk, waiting for another customer to come. Instead of another customer, Yesung comes in with a box of donuts. "Yesung?" You said, tilting your head.
"Hi sweetie! Um, I got you some donuts. I had a feeling you were starving. You said yesterday that you were craving something sweet. So, I got you some donuts!" He closed the door behind him and set the box on the standing desk. "Yesung...you didn't have to. I can always buy them myself." You said shyly.
Although he had spoiled you a lot, you still feel like you didn't deserve all this love. It felt unusual having someone pour all the love from their heart on you.
"But I wanted to. I love you. Are...you not happy with it?".Yesung pouts with puppy-like eyes. "What? No! Of course I'm happy! What are you talking about, Yesungie?" You got out of your standing desk and put his head on your shoulder. "Yesung, I love you. And I'm happy that you're treating me like this. Don't ever, ever, think I don't love you, okay?"
You felt his head nod. You pulled his head back up and gave him a sweet kiss. Yesung calmed down and kissed back. The two of you pulled away, smiling at each other. "I'll close the shop for a while, let's go at the back and eat some donuts, shall we?"
"Yes! Race you there!" Yesung sprints into the back with the box of donuts in his hand. You laugh at him, adoring him in his childish nature. You really loved him a lot. You didn't understand why he would ever think you don't love him. That was because Yesung's perspective was very different from yours.
For Yesung, making sure someone is love is his top priority. He can't stand seeing someone he loves sad or unsatisfied. He'll do anything to make them feel enough, even if it meant spending money on them. Ever since the both of you dated, he gave you food almost everyday. He'd leave cute little notes on your desk whenever you'd open the shop. Cute little things just to make you happy. There would be times where he sees you stressed, sad, annoyed or angry. The sight would be so frustrating for Yesung. He would blame himself for not taking care of you enough. Which is why he stepped up his game and spent money on extravagant things.
The dress you saw across the street? You wanted that but you didn't have enough money. He bought it for you. At first, you were shocked. You questioned him as to why he bought this for you. He replied with a simple sentence. "It's because I love you."

The flower shop was closed today. It was pouring hard. You decided to take the time and organize some files and mails while it was still pouring. You went through the mails one by one. "Bills, bills, more bills..." You mumbled. You heard two knocks on the glass door. You kept browsing throught the mails as you opened the glass door. "Y/N..." A shaky familiar voice said. You looked up and saw,
"Yesung! Good God what are you doing out in the rain!" You threw the mails to the ground, helping his freezing and shivering self into the warm flower shop. "Jeez, you are freezing. Yesung, what are you thinking going out there in the rain?" You scold.
"Well—"
"Hold that thought, I'm gonna get you a towel." You show your index finger and left the room to get a towel. You browsed through the shelves and found a white towel just for him. You came back into the room and found him still shivering. You wrap the warm towel around him, a satisfied sigh leaves his mouth. "It's so warm..." He whispers. "Let's get you in the living room."
You help him walk into the living room with your hand pressed on his back and the other linked with his other hand. "What were you thinking, Yesung..." Yesung pouted. You saw your oversized black and gray hoodie hung on the doorknob of a door. You grabbed it and placed it on the coffee table. He took off his wet shirt, pants and underwear. You threw the hoodie over him after wiping him dry. "This is very warm.." He whispered.
"It's my favorite, it makes me feel I'm being hugged when I wear it." You picked up the towel and his wet clothes and threw it into the hamper. "I'll make us some hot chocolate, go threw netflix and find us something to watch. Maybe Ratatouille?" He picks up the remote and searches for the movie while you took care of the hot chocolate.
Five minutes into the movie, you brought back the hot chocolate. He had already sunken in the three massive pillows on the sofa and fell asleep. "He must've had a hard day today..."
You set the two mugs of hot chocolate on the coffee table and went into another room to bring back another pillow, since he stole all of them. Moving his thin, pale legs aside, you sat down at the other end of the couch and picking up your hot chocolate, sipping it up.
Halfway into the movie, you can't help but look at Yesung's small figure. The man is so small. He's pretty pale as well. You can't help but wonder if he's taking care of himself well. Does he eat a lot? Does he even know what self-care means? These thoughts jammed up your brain. You needed the answers from him. It can't just be you who's feeling happy, his happiness is as important and yours.
You quietly stood up and sat in front of him. His face let out little snores with a pout. A smile creeped on your face. You brought your hand to his blonde hair, massaging it so that he would wake up. "Yesung..?" You whispered. He hummed.
"Wake up, dear." His eyes fluttered open. Butterflies attached your stomach at how ridiculously adorable he was. "Can't believe I have this adorable baby as my boyfriend."
"You fell asleep. Want some hot coco?" You point at his mug. He nods and slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes. You brought his mug up to him. He took it with his hands and sipped from it, sighing from satisfaction right after. "You're the best..." His eyes sparkled.
"Anything for my Yesungie." You pat his thigh. Reaching for the remote, you paused the movie and sat next to Yesung. "Yesung,"
"Hm?" He looked up from the mug.
"Are you feeling...alright?" Your voice became small. "I'm okay."
"I'm just...worried..since...you're very thin and pale." You inched closer to him.
"What...about me being thin and..pale?" His head tilts in question.
"I just..feel like you have a lot to say," You looked down. You took his hand in yours, automatically linking. "Tell me everything you wanna say."
He placed his mug on the coffee table and immediately hugged you. You were surprised. All he wanted to tell you was that he wanted to hug you? Or was your brain just shallow at this point? But then you heard sniffles and his tears began soaking your blouse.
"I just..." He breathes in deep. "I just..care for you a lot..I-I just want you to be very happy..maybe I f-focused hard on that t-that I forgot about m-myself. I'm so s-sorry for making you w-worry about me." He lets all his emotions out on your shoulder, hugging you tighter. You hugged him back tight as well and placed kisses on his shoulder. "I'm scared I'm not making you h-happy enough.."
You pulled away, both of your hands on his shoulders. "You know you make a difference, right?"
Yesung looked down. It took him a while before agreeing and nodding his head. "I love you...so much, _____." He leaned in and kissed you. A salty taste gave the kiss a flavor due to his tears. He pulled away and looked down.
His hands wear linked and he was playing with them. "There's something you didn't tell me, ______." He pouts.
Your eyes shot up at him, realizing that you didn't reply to his "I love you," earlier. You calmed down, exhaling loudly. You took his head, your hand placed at the back of his head and resting it on your chest. "I love you the most, Yesung. Don't you ever forget that." You felt his little nod against your chest. You giggled at how cute he was. "Thank you for making sure I feel happy and comfortable at all times,"
You lift his head off of you and stood up before continuing your sentence. "But now, it's your turn to be pampered. Stay put, I'll make your favorite dish." His eyes lit up and sparkled. "Fried Kimchi?" He asked, eagerly.
"Yes, fried Kimchi. Go put on your favorite movie, don't start without me though!"
"Yes, ______~" He sang, picking up the remote.
After making his fried kimchi, you had a movie marathon in the living room and forgot about opening the flower shop. It was a time for him to heal and remember that you truly appreciated all the things he did for you and that you loved him lots. You had your head on his chest, the both of you snuggled in a fluffy, gray blanket and hot chocolate.

I sat alone by the piano in the den, the only light in the room coming from the twinkling tree in the living room. I think I've always been comforted by faint solitary lights in the darkness; the contrast between warmth and shadow makes the lights seem brighter than they would be if washed out by the sun.
I don't think I felt lonely until that moment and its melody ended once Yesung sat by my side. The Christmas lights gathered and brightened in his eyes that crinkled with his smile.
"Merry Christmas, Lei," he whispered. "I just wanted to tell you something quickly; then, I'll leave you to your piano."
"Merry Christmas, Yesung!" I returned his smile easily. "As always, I eagerly await your wisdom!"
His sight trailed down to my fingers, still splayed across the frozen keys. "I wanted to make sure you know that it's okay to play music in the dark. Sometimes, the most beautiful songs are the ones we sing for ourselves."
As Yesung hesitated to meet my eyes for the first time, it occurred to me that he knew about my tendency to stand alone in a corner despite my craving for unfailing unconditional companionship. He could somehow recognize the ghost of loneliness in my eyes. That recognition compelled him to use his voice that he knew I trusted to assure me that my voice— mine— that I have always carried— can become a similar source of comfort. My voice could become a faint solitary light in the darkness. Maybe, Yesung seemed to suggest with the hand ruffling my hair, my voice could grow into a brilliant light, the sun in the darkness.
I nodded and said, "I know," not because I knew, but because I wanted to know. Because I believed in Yesung even when I couldn't quite fathom that his wisdom was anything but a dream.
